With 2009’s multi-platinum One Love, two-time-Grammy-winning artist/producer/DJ David Guetta cemented his status as a genre-busting hitmaker whose in-your-face fusion of electro and hip-hop beautifully warps the pop landscape. Now, with his fifth studio album Nothing But The Beat, Guetta builds on that breakthrough momentum and takes his decades-spanning career to a frenetic new level marked by bigger hooks and more brain-bending beats. • STEVE AOKI

While Mulholland Drive high up in the Hollywood Hills may have the views and legacy, it’s Wonderland Avenue that has the street cred and infamy (ex-porn star John Holmes was involved in a 1981 quadruple homicide at an apartment on the narrow road). Now, Wonderland Avenue may soon gain notoriety for something new: the world’s most unlikely road where some of America’s most beloved recent electronic music has been made thanks to Steve Aoki who named his debut for New York-based Ultra Music and his own label Dim Mak Records, Wonderland.,“There’s some iconic personalities walking up and down Wonderland” Aoki laughs, but that’s not why the artist chooses to live on Wonderland Avenue—he’s there for his home studio and access to big name guests from around the world (think everyone from Kid Cudi to Lil Jon to Afrojack) who are happy to drop by and record with one of the party scene’s greatest rockers.,“Every single day I’m in L.A. I’m recording at my house,” says the busy touring DJ and producer, who by his own admission is only in Southern California for less than 100 days a year these days. “Luckily, L.A. is a place everyone wants to come visit and it’s a cool environment up there” he adds.,Arguably no producer has done more to raise the international profile of Los Angeles in underground electronic music circles than Steve Aoki. He broke bands such as Bloc Party, The Bloody Beetroots, Klaxons and The Gossip though deftly marketed single and full-length releases on his Dim Mak label, which he began in 1996 and now has over 250 releases. Those releases often dovetailed into performances at his weekly Dim Mak nights including Dim Mak studios (still going strong every Tuesday night in the heart of Hollywood). As a label owner and shrewd curator of talent from around the world, those club nights have hosted the debut US performances of hundreds of acts over the last decade from Lady Gaga to Ed banger Records & Justice, Ke$ha, Skrillex, Kid Cudi, Kaiser Chiefs, No Age to Boys Noize. Aoki’s become a force of nature who has helped turn underground house, electro and harder-edged EDM with rap and rock leanings into the phenomena it is today: regularly pulling in 150,000 + fans at events such as Las Vegas’ Electric Daisy Carnival and the debut of the IDentity national electronic touring festival.,Aoki’s punk roots go back to the art of the house party, when he was just a student at UCSB he was already booking bands such as The Rapture, !!!, Jimmy Eat World, Hot Water Music and At the Drive-In at his Pickle Patch bash and forging relationships with big names that would end up serving him well in the future (he met Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo at a secret show in college). Now, Aoki is readying the next stage of is incredible music career with his first proper full-length release with Wonderland, bringing a lifetime’s worth of passion for bands, DJs and artists of all stripes he has met and/or worked with over the past two decades to the forefront.,“This album is a collection of singles with all different kinds of songs,” Aoki says, adding his new single with Rivers Cuomo, “Earthquakey People,” is resonating big time with rock, pop and dance fans. The song shot straight to the upper echelons of Beatport’s electro house charts as soon as it was released in October 2011. True enough, Wonderland is a dizzying, addictive and satisfyingly winding journey for all kinds of music boosters through Aoki’s mastery of nearly every sub-genre of dance music from “Earthquakey People’s” buzzing Les Rythmes Digitales-esque dance pop to dubstep, rock-infused disco to commercial house.,“I wanted this album to show all the different kinds of production sounds I can do,” says the globe-trotting DJ who has been on a hot streak lately thanks to singles like his “Turbulence,” which emerged as one of 2011’s bigger anthems at large-scale dance events at happing from Belgium’s massive Tomorrowland to Miami’s annual Ultra Music Festival.,Wonderland contains not only past hits such as “Turbulence” , “No Beef”, and Aoki’s well-known remix of “Pursuit of Happiness” (featuring Kid Cudi), but several new standout singles that may well see Aoki break into U.S. pop charts now that the scene he helped build in America has crept into mainstream pop radio channels with a sound leaning heavily on dance music.,“People are really going to like ‘Ladi Dadi,’” Aoki says of his pop skewing offering with Wynter Gordon on Wonderland. “Dubstep is a major influence in my production lately,” he said of the track.,But “Ladi Dadi” isn’t the only surprisingly radio-friendly track on Wonderland featuring female vocals—Aoki teamed up with CSS singer Lovefoxxx for deep house pleaser “Heartbreaker” as well as recorded with chart-topping firestarter Nayer for his “Come With Me (Dead Meat)”,“It’s actually the first track I wrote for the album,” says Aoki of “Come With Me (Dead Meat),” which features commercial house production. “I’ve updated the song probably six times through the years but I’ve finally found the right vocalist with Nayer,” he adds.,Wonderland is far from your average dance music collection of singles, however. The record bristles with fresh-sounding collaborations beyond club jams that light up VIP sections from Moscow to Miami. “Anyone who knows anything about punk knows the Exploited,” says Aoki of one of Wonderland’s more unique offerings “The Kids Will Have Their Say,” which features members of legendary punk bands The Exploited and Die Kreuzen as well as Dutch producer Sickboy.,“I love molding two different genres and two generations of music in a song,” Aoki continues regarding the track, which effortlessly fuses punk and dance music in homage to Boston hardcore band SS Decontrol, who also had an album of the same title released in 1982.,“It’s bringing back punk hardcore influenced vocals to a dance beat and hopefully this album will come across in a way that people will get immersed in and really get involved in the lyrics,” he said of the track, which features defiant lyrics in the best tradition of hardcore songs from the 1980/90s. “Kids at my shows are like the same group of kids I grew up with. They are so excited about this music and they want to hear new sounds, next level music.”,Rap gets a big look, too, on Wonderland with Aoki’s collaboration with Chiddy Bang and Lil Jon called “Emergency”, “Dangerous” w/ Zuper Blahq (follow up to their hit single “I’m In the House”), “Cudi the Kid” featuring none other than Kid Cudi and another followup to a track Aoki did together earlier this year “Misfits” w/ who Steve calls “the best drummer in the world” Travis Barker, as well as Aoki’s new song with chart-toppers LMFAO, “Livin’ My Love,” which contains a special message for jealous haters and also features NERVO.,From rap to punk, electro house to alt rock, Wonderland is truly a unique cross-genre whirlwind tour of music in 2011/2012 as Aoki sees it and as akin to driving down Wonderland Avenue at dizzying speeds…. constantly shifting gears.,“This album is a spectrum of music that influences me,” says Aoki.,America, suddenly insatiable when it comes to dance music in all its splendor and variety, is now ready to take a proverbial drive down a street the DJ and producer knows well.

  • AFROJACK

Grammy award winning DJ and producer, Afrojack, is one of most notable and iconic names in electronic dance music (EDM) today. At only 26 years old he has made a large impact on the music industry and is a key player in the worldwide explosion and popularity of EDM. In 2013, Forbes magazine crowned him as #7 on ‘The World’s Highest Paid DJs List’ and this year The Hollywood Reporter called him ‘’a global icon’’ set ‘’to conquer the world.’’ A talented producer and artist Afrojack is versatile and creative with his sound whether creating club hits or producing and remixing for the likes of Beyoncé, Pitbull or Madonna. Afrojack is adept at shifting between genres and playing with his sound and it’s easy to see why his skills are some of the most sought after in the world.,Starting off in his hometown of Spijkenisse, Nick van de Wall aka Afrojack, quickly made a name for himself with a slew of hard-hitting underground releases, before exploding on the music scene in 2011 with the release of ‘Take Over Control’ - an instant worldwide club and chart hit the single reached platinum status in the U.S. Afrojack then went onto develop his own imprint in the production world with his label ‘Wall Recordings’ – a platform by which other passionate EDM artists could grow. He also wanted his label to retain the ‘club music’ brand, something he strives for with every Afrojack release. 2011 also saw Afrojack sign a landmark deal to become one of the first ever DJ’s to sign an annual residency in Las Vegas, at the legendary Wynn Hotel. The residency saw Afrojack perform over a dozen times a year at Wynn clubs including Encore Beach Club, Surrender, Tryst and XS.,From there the success continued; as well as making club hits and collaborating with the likes of David Guetta (co-writing and producing the worldwide smash ‘Titanium’), he also began to team up with and write for A-list pop artists around the world, including Madonna and Chris Brown. In 2011, he co-wrote and produced ‘Give Me Everything’ for Pitbull and Ne-Yo, which to this day has sold more than 8 million copies worldwide and reached #1 in the US Billboard Hot 100 Charts. Not to mention his production work for Beyonce’s ‘Run the World (Girls),’ his Grammy nominated remix for Leona Lewis’ ‘Collide’ and his 2011 underground track ‘Rock The House,’ which topped the Beatport dance music charts after just three days. The same year he headlined both EDC (Electric Daisy Carnival) NY & Las Vegas to over 300,000 people, as well as UMF (Ultra Music Festival) in Miami, Tomorrowland (in Belgium) and Coachella (LA) in addition a colossal 40 city ‘Jacked’ tour of the United States, all packed into 2012.,Last year got off to a monumental start when Afrojack signed an exclusive worldwide deal with Island Def Jam, Island UK and Universal Music Group. The deal saw Afrojack’s talent be recognized and supported by the renowned music label. The first project from the partnership was ‘The Spark’, a single that fused EDM and pop and showed a new sound for Afrojack as an artist. The year continued to be another huge one for Afrojack. For his fourth consecutive year he returned to headline Creamfields and at the Ultra Music Festival and Tomorrowworld, he debuted his own ‘Jacked’ stage showcasing his Wall artists. He also found time to shoot a documentary web-series, ‘March of the Afrojack’, which gave fans an insight into the real person behind the Afrojack moniker. The series was released on the Rolling Stone website and saw Nick share many intimate moments and thoughts from his journey on the road along with his personal mantra “If I can do it, you can do it too.”,In late 2013 Afrojack made history as he became the first DJ to ring the closing bell at NASDAQ Stock Market Exchange in New York, as electronic dance company, SFX, went public. This also came in the same week as Afrojack cemented his hands into the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the second DJ to ever do this and in doing so reinforced his position as a global music icon.,2014 is set to be another milestone year for Afrojack as he releases his second single ‘Ten Feet Tall’, starts a new DJ residency at Las Vegas hotspot Hakkasan and releases his debut album with Island Records. This spring he returns to Miami as headliner on the Ultra Music Festival and to give his loyal fans a first taste and preview of his highly anticipated album set for release this May.,Given Afrojack’s immense popularity and influence on the music industry it is no surprise that many corporate brands have flocked to him for brand partnerships. Afrojack recently announced a partnership with globally celebrated fashion label ‘G-Star Raw’ for his own line of Afrojack inspired designs that will be sold worldwide. He was also sought out by leading gaming company, Razer, to be a brand consultant on the development of future products. Further, this January saw Nick’s latest single, ‘Ten Feet Tall’, premiere as a part of Bud Light’s new commercial during the Superbowl.,Afrojack has built a global brand that is recognized for influencing attitudes and championing new levels of change for the music world. It is clear from his exponential growth that there is no stopping him and at only 26 years old this is just the beginning…

  • ANGERFIST

Danny Masseling started making music at the age of 16. Beginning with 4-beat programmed loops and breakbeats etc, his interest in producing music started to grow. It almost became an The year is 1997. Danny Masseling is at the age of 16, and his first experience with music production has entered his system. Danny worked on his beats day and night. And how cliché it might sound, this actually became a way of life. After sending a demo out to BZRK Records, Mark Vos (aka Buzz Fuzz, owner of this notorious record label) contacted him to do some serious buzzinezz. After a while of mastering and editing, BZRK033 was born. Under the alias Menace II Society, the Son Of A Bitch EP entered the market. Almost at the same time, the first Angerfist EP was released on Overload Records. However the track Chronic Disorder, made Menace II Society a well known name, Angerfist would grow out to be one of the biggest names in the scene. Traxx as Criminally Insane and Fuck Off were immediately recognized as relatively big hits. Danny had set foot in the scene. After releasing an EP under the third alias Kid Morbid, he chose Angerfist to be his main project.,Still heavily sedated by this sudden rush of records and enthusiastic hardcore people, the traxx kept coming. In 2003, the Sons Of Satan EP was released on Masters of Hardcore Records. The idea for an Angerfist act, to bring the vibe to the parties would soon appear. Bringing the wicked beats, wearing hockey-masks and hooded sweaters, was an instant success. Every place they visited, the crowd went wild and dancefloors filled up. A year of insane parties and performances went by, as Danny worked on a record that would turn out to become his biggest hit. In 2004, the time had come to release the Raise Your Fist EP.,In 2006, Angerfist was one of the leading acts of the scene, with a massive number of fans. Not only did the beats poison their home country, it has also spread beyond the boarders. They visited countries as Switzerland, Scotland, USA, Russia, Australia, Germany, Finland, Spain, Italy and many more.,In 2006 there was still one thing missing; an album. After 5 years of Angerfist the Pissin Razorbladez double CD + DVD album was released. Fresh rugged hardcore beats and the hits of the past! The first time it was available for the people, was at the sold out release party at the Hemkade in Zaandam. In 2007 – going strong as ever – more releases followed and Angerfist had the honor to close the world’s leading harddance event Sensation Black. 2 years after the first album, in March 2008, their first solo concert was planned; Angerfist the Mutilate Concert! Named after the néw album which was also released that same month. Once again, the concert was incredible and the new double album was a massive success.,Now, with 2010 in sight, Angerfist is still producing and playing at the highest level of hardcore. The dj sets and live acts still rock every club and festival they visit, and they will keep on going till the planet bursts into flames.

Yet after just two releases they are already riding high on the pinncacles of,success. At the time of writing, “Cream” is sitting happily in the Beatport Top 10, where it has been nesting contently, for the past two months. It’s upbeat, deep house party grooves have been filling the DJ boxes of thousands, worldwide." (Beatportal),The mysterious Claptone first burst onto the scene 5 months ago with an EP titled “She Loves You”,featuring 4 tracks of soulful house perfection.,Although not much is yet known other than he wears a long, pointed-nose facemask to hide his identity, he’s off,to a great start with tracks as golden as these. Definitely an artist worth following. The next EP for Exploited,is already finished and will be released in June.,Tracks from Claptone have been supported by everyone from DJ Hell, to A Trak, DJ Sneak, Soul Clap, Solomun,,Azari&III, Hot Chip, Noir, Julio Bashmore, Tensnake, Eats Everything, Matthew Dear and Tim Sweeney.,Reminiscent of the super patient, minimal, and downright seductive bootlegs that Soul Clap was pushing out,a couple of years ago (see Extravaganza, Sex In the Kitchen, and Rock the Boat) the new release from the, mysterious act Claptone entitled “Cream” utilizes the same tension and release tantra-esque production, techniques with great success. Sampling one of the most recognizable piano intros from the 90’s hip hop cannon,(Wu Tang’s “C.R.E.A.M.” if you haven’t already figured out), Claptone twist this nostalgic loop into a deep house, dancefloor filler. Released on the steadily incredible Exploited Records imprint, this track has been popping up in,sets from the aforementioned Soul Clap to house maestro, DJ Sneak. Now the video promo for the release is just, downright weird…silent films, clowns, ballerinas…,DJ Hell:,“Cream is the first clubhit in 2012.”

  • DANNY AVILA

In the space of just four years, Avila has gone from star-struck observer to one of the most enlightening protégées on the European circuit. How many other teenagers can boast monthly residencies on international radio stations? Or say they’ve shared billing rights with David Guetta, Afrojack, Martin Solveig, Fedde Le Grand or the Black Eyed Peas?,It’s Avila’s innate understanding of the dimensions of house that make him stand out. His mixes combine an almost ‘cheeky’ quality with a beyond-his-years ability to bring the filth right into the heart of proceedings. From the moment the beat drops, it’s clear from his track selection alone that Avila has been an avid student of the musical history that drives him – this is not your average ‘Beatport Top 10’ encounter. The tribal heat running through his sets smacks of throbbing classic Ibiza sessions – it’s no wonder then that 2011 saw him the youngest ever resident on the Balearic island.,With huge showcase events confirmed across Europe and the Middle East this Spring alongside Fedde le Grand and Martin Solveig, festival appearances that see him share the mainstage with artists such as David Guetta, an extensive raft of new production ready for release and radio residencies bringing him to the ears of milions, Avila’s star is set for an explosive and earned ascendance towards global consciousness over the next twelve months.,Oh, and if all that wasn’t enough, he’s not only spear heading the next generation of superstar DJ/producers – he’s also pretty damn prolific when it comes to anything concerning a board. Verging on pro skate- and snowboarder status, Avila’s also notched up 2nd in the Spanish Wakeboard Championships, 7th in the European Wakeboard Championships and 12th in the World Wakeboard Championships.,There is, it seems, absolutely no stopping Danny Avila at whatever he turns his hand to. The future beckons, and it’s practically blinding.

  • DA TWEEKAZ

Da Tweekaz, also known as Kenth Kvien and Marcus Nordli, had been making music together for a couple of years before they got into hardstyle. They tried making different styles of harder dance music such as: hardtrance, hardhouse and hardtechno , but it wasn’t until fall 2007 that these 2 guys started their career as hardstyle producers.,Da Tweekaz got their passion fueled when their songs started to end up on different forums, MP3 sites etc. Normally this would be a bad thing for a producer, but for two upcoming producers this is what they needed; people talking about them. As a result of this they started to spend more time on tracks and one day they got contacted by DJ’s United Records. From now on they were not bedroom producers anymore, but professional producers doing what they do best, making music.,After massive releases such as Angeli Domini, Da Bomba Whatevah, Get Mad and with the help of some unofficial remixes, they had found a sound of their own. Their passion for the 8bit sound is also recognized in several of their tracks.,In 2009 they started to be well recognized DJs as well. Their first official gig was for the newly started hard dance party organizer “Hardstyle DNA”. While enjoying their residency and spending more and more time in the studio; their fan base was rapidly expanding. As a result of this, organizers from other countries started to notice the duo Da Tweekaz, and this led to gigs in UK and the Netherlands. Their DJ sets are a treat too. Da Tweekaz are not only combining their DJ skills but also their personalities, so be sure to enjoy a full DJ set complemented with humor while dancing to their beats.,In 2010 Da Tweekaz rapidly expanded across the borders. Their big dream of international fame became true when Dirty Workz approached them to join their family of producers. Their first releases under the Dirty Workz label; DNA, Be Aware, Whatevah 2010 and Hook My Mic Up where a big hit on the charts, and so was their official remix of Brennan Hearts Revival X; which they won in a remix contest made by Brennan Heart himself. Now they are in-demand producers with the agenda booked for Bassleader, Q-Base, Qontinent and gigs in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, UK and the Netherlands.,One thing is certain, by the end of 2011 Da Tweekaz will have accomplished more than they could ever dream of, and this is not the last you will hear from these two funny upcoming Norwegians.

This fact resulted in a big musical interest in the years that past. Stefan started to create his musical point of few in the early nineties, when happy hardcore was introduced. Evolving his love for music in the years after, Stefan always remembered the hard pounding tracks, with huge melodic influences from that period.,After they started to work as a team, things went fast. All of their releases got huge feedback, and were played by all the major jocks, resulting in several bookings From the biggest organisations hardstyle knows. • DIMITRI VEGAS & LIKE MIKE

The brothers from Greek origin but born and raised in Belgium, spent the last years travelling across Europe and playing in some of the best venues around.,Their debut release on the legendary Bonzai Records, “La Cocaina/Eivissa 2007” was a techno banger that did really well on the White Isle, being played by many djs all around. They were asked as main act on Prestige Ibiza’s “Glamour Night” and as residents of the new club, playing on events like the Manumission Carry-On.,This year, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike are the new pick of Joia Records, the Swedish top-label established in Stockholm about 5 years ago. In this short period of time they have been able to attract some of today’s biggest producers and have releases of artists like Eric Prydz, Axwell, Steve Angello & Sebastian-ingrosso/">Sebastian Ingrosso, John Dahlback, Ian Carey, Steve Lawler just to name a few. Since “Push it!” takes a completely different direction as Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike’s first release, the brothers decided to go for a new alias to join the label of the Swedish House Mafia: NoiseFreak! The release contains an electro-styled bigroom mix by Dimitri and a more underground minimal-touch by Mike. The release was presented on its official releaseparty in Belgium’s newest and biggest venue : Noxx Antwerp.,NoiseFreak is not their only project that is about to hit the stores : MadFunk is their electro take of the eighties classic “Love Can’t Turn around” by Jackmaster Funk.,The promo has been getting fabulous responses for months and the track promises to be one of the summer anthems of 2008.,The minimal/tech-house lovers are not left behind either, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike’s TerraPlastik project was released with its first ep “Morning After” on the New York based Bodywork! A sub label of Peak Hour Music. The main track ‘Dubai Nights’ hit the Beatport minimal charts on place 53 after only a few days.,With these projects, releases and various upcoming remixes you can be sure to find the brothers and their projects in many clubs, events, stores and record cases in 2008.,As a team, they played a clubs like La Rocca (BE), Versuz (BE), Creamm (BE), Misturafina (IT), Koala (IT) and may more. They don’t just bring a DJ-set, but a unique live performance. By combining Dimitri’s beats with Mike’s voice, they found a unique style playing together, entertaining the crowd with cd’s, decks, fx and of course, the mic! Their live sets range from “hands in the air” peak time, dance floor-destructing electro beats, to a deeper minimal sound and uplifting techy vibes. The brothers are also known for an energetic and fun performance. We try to make our set a great clubbing experience for everyone, we bring a cocktail of electro and tech-house on the rocks, with a touch of techno and minimal… shaken not stirred. We defenitely don’t like to be branded with a style, the direction we take our set all depends on the crowd, but we only play music that gets under our skin… and that has always worked so far!

  • FERRY CORSTEN

Producer. DJ. Pioneer. Innovator. Visionary. He’s the man that singlehandedly initiated a revolution in a dance musicgenre -one that’s long since touched everycorner of the globe. Having designed the Dutch trance sound, he propelled it into the clubbing consciousness and on further still into popular culture. From there he continues to innovate at every turn, working with vocalists as diverse as SimonLe Bon and Guru and has remixed music from some of the planet’s most enduring artists – U2, The Killers, Faithless, Moby and William Orbit among them. For 20 years he’s foreseen what club citizens want to dance to and as an artisan DJ/producer, delivered it. He’s released three artist albums under his own name (with a fourth ‘WKND’ scheduled for February 2012)and in doing so has captured the hearts and minds of legions of fans and scooped some of the world’s most prestigious music prizes along the way. He’s regularly ranked as one of the top 10DJs in the world, and of late has turned to charitable activities, working with the World Wildlife Fund.Yet through all this he’s still one of the most down-to-earth, two-feet-on-the-floor DJs you’ll find. He’s Ferry Corsten.,How It All Began: Corsten started his career performing self-composed music live in his native country Holland. His first studio music arrived in 1991 when he produced the embryonic rave track ‘Spirit of Adventure’. In 1995, under the name Hole In One and aged just 21 years old, he won the prestigious De Grote Prijs van Nederland award, which recognized his outstanding contribution to Holland’s electronic dance music scene.,Reinventing Trance: In the early 90s Ferry’s head was turned by the music streaming in from Germany. By 1996, with original trancesound beginning to contract, he set about creating a new, more accessible and ebullient principle for it. With a strong reception to his early tracks(Moonman’s ‘Don’t Be Afraid’ and Discodroids ‘Interspace’ among them), he launched Tsunami Records in ‘97 and a year later, under the alias System F, split the genre’s atom. A veritable EDM milestone, ‘Out Of The Blue’ formed spear tip of Corsten’s trance sound – one that was quickly galvanized by co-productions like Gouryellas ‘Gouryella’(with Tiësto) and Veracocha’s ‘Carte Blanche’. Within 6 short months The Dutch Trance Sound(as it had become known) had seized control of Europe’s dancefloors and national charts. Ferry’sremix of William Orbit’s ‘Barber’s Adagio For Strings’ became a top 5 in the UK, where his achievements were reflected by Muzik Magazine who named him as Producer of the Year at their 1999 Ericsson Muzik awards.,Superstar Producer Becomes SuperstarDJ: Demand to see the man behind the music had quickly placed Corsten behind turntables. He fast established a reputation for impassioned floor-igniting sets, which engaged and delighted an ever-expanding group of fans. From smashing the earliest trance scene events (inc. Innercity,Trance Energy and Dance Valley), there’s now not a metropolis on Earth that Corsten’s not rocked and re-rocked. He entered DJ Magazine’s Top 100 poll in the first year of voting and, as of 2011 has enjoyed an incredible unbroken 12-year run in the chart. He won Best Trance DJ at both the 2005 and 2007 Ibiza Awards and in the same year was named DJ of the Year by Dutch national radio station Slam!FM.,Right Of Way to L.E.F. In 2002, with the euphoric sound he’d engineered continuing to hold sway over dance airwaves, Corsten refused to play safe. Having changed the face of trance once,he ripped up his own rulebook and set out to do it again. Evolving it at speed, 2002 saw the release of ‘Punk’ and the following year ‘Rock Your Body, Rock’ (tracks which for the first time spliced an electro gene intotrance). Both exploded, with the latter hitting #11 in the UK national chart and were featured on his 2004 debutalbum, ‘Right Of Way’. That was followed by ‘L.E.F.’ in 2006 and (delivering on its ‘Loud Electronic Ferocious’ mandate) it saw Ferry begin to integrate some of his own earliest musical influences back into his music. Released on his new Flashover label, Corsten drafted 80s legends like Simon Le Bon, Howard Jones and Gangstarr founder, Guru into collaborate on the album, balancing them with trancier material like ‘Galaxia’ and floor-smash ‘Beautiful’.,Corsten’s Countdown: Midway through 2007 Ferry launched Corsten’s Countdown, his radio show platform. Each week, for the last five years, listeners have ranked the 10 tracks Ferry plays via the show’s website and his Facebook Fan Page. This in turn has created the most interactive radio show in the world, with its listeners determining a chart of the show’s music. To celebrate its 150th episode Ferry introduced the world to the Cue Play App, a mobile digital DJ application, which was pre-loaded with tracks from his Flashover label. Corsten’s Countdown is now aired in over 50 countries.,Flashover Recordings and Premier Recordings: In 2005, after 8 years at the helm, Ferry left Tsunami Recordings to launch a new label enterprise, Flashover Recordings. In addition to becoming his new musical base, it’s fostered new talent, signing the likes of Rafaël Frost, Arty, Tritonal, Yuri Kane and many more to its roster. Its releases proved such a hit with fans that it quickly spun off the imprints Flashover Progressive, Flashover Tech, Levare Recordings, Flashover Chill Out and Flashback (which houses Ferry’s complete backcatalogue and also includes previously unreleased material). Expanding his label portfolio further, he launched Premier, a joint-venture label with Black Hole Recordings in 2010. Established as a platform for crossover dance music, Premier has subsequently released music from artists including Betsie Larkin, Chris Lake, Robbie Rivera, Radio Killer and Kris Menace.,Full On Ferry: Embarking ona new show concept In October of 2007, Full On Ferry saw him lynchpin the arena-sized events, handpicking other DJs for unique back-to-back sets. Notably, at the first two events, Ferry wowed the audience in his home city of Rotterdam by DJing whilst suspended above the crowd in a ‘floating’ booth. Full On Ferry: Ibiza saw him embark on a season-long White Isle takeover at the newly opened Sankeys club in 2011. The end of that year saw him bring the show to Brixton’s O2 Academy in London on New Years Eve for the first UK edition of the event. Various Full on Ferry events have already been scheduled for 2012.,Once Upon A Night / Twice In A Blue Moon: Ferry’s 3rd album under his own name was heralded by the single ‘Radio Crash’ and was unveiled to fans at 2008’s Full On Ferry event at the Ahoy in Rotterdam. ‘Twice In A Blue Moon’ carried the club hits ‘We Belong’, the Betsie Larkin-sung ‘Made of Love’ and in typical fashion more experimental material like the techno-edged ‘Brain Box’. It was released in the same year as Corsten’s first child was born and the title (and certain tracks, including ‘Gabriella’s Sky’) were inspired by events in Ferry’s life at the time. T.I.A.B.M.went on to spawn a major 40-date world release tour and the following year a remix edition and the ‘Backstage’ DVD.,It was whilst being interviewed for the ‘Backstage’ that Ferry announced plans for ‘Once Upon A Night’. Having enjoyed a long mix-comphistory (one that’s included 6 editions of the mega-selling Trance Nation series and his own Passport albums) Ferry entered a new mix era. Centred on material collated from his Flashover labeland exclusive to the ‘Once Upon a Night’ albums, in 2010 alone it spawned two volumes and a supporting world tour.,Aliases, In-Groups And Co-productions: Having now released tracks under more than 30 different artist names, Corsten has probably made greater use of aliases than any other producer working in the scene. Their impact has been felt far and wide, with some of his best known becoming next to synonymous with his own name. Chief among them have been System F, Moonman, Eon, Albion and Pulp Victim.,Co-producing on tracks like Gouryella’s ‘Gouryella’ and Veracocha’s ‘Carte Blanche’ he helped launch the careers of artists like Tiësto and Armin Van Buuren. It is a studio dynamic he enjoys to this day… Having previously collaborated with artists as contrasting as Public Enemy and Simon Le Bon, he most recently re-teamed with Armin van Buuren (after System F’s ‘Exhale’) for the 2011 club smash ‘Brute’.,The Here-And-Now: Ferry marked 2 decades of working in electronic dance music in late 2011 with his 20 Years of Ferry Corsten mega-mix album. In releasing it in an App-only format, he became the first electronic dance artist to put out an album solely through this medium. Its multimedia release included 34 of his biggest hits, worked into the mix. On the singles front he released ‘Check It Out’, ‘Minack’, ‘Brute’ (co-produced with Armin) ‘Feel It’ and ‘So Good’ – the latter going out as a free-share track, as a ‘thank you’ in recognition of his fans loyalty. In October of 2011 Corsten joined forces with Olmeca Tequila, whose owners Pernod-Ricard launched a limited edition bottle, which Ferry himself designed. It was also the year that he became an ambassador for the Dutch World Wildlife Fund, where he has begun to leverage the exposure his events afford him to raise awareness for the Fund’s activities.,Early 2012 will see the release of Ferry’s fourth studio album ‘WKND’. The album was prefaced in late 2011 by the launch of Ferry’s new YouTube-based WKNDR webisodes, which take fans behind the scenes of his gigs and keeps them up to date with his production work.

Clearing space, getting rid of clutter, and optimizing the flow of energies: These are the principles of Feng Shui, but it’s also a very precise description of the sound of Hatikwa. The producer from North Germany gained popularity for his minimalist approach towards Progressive Trance, an approach that might take different directions but that always proves to have compelling hypnotic powers. Hatikwa is one of those artists who reached a career breakthrough via Social Media. It is 2009 when he plays his debut live act at Hamburg’s Lonely Forest Project, and this experience is such a rich source of inspiration that he creates a track and names it after that party. Once uploaded on YouTube, "Lonely Forest" spreads rapidly and within no time the name Hatikwa is on the lips and on the Facebook profiles of Progressive Trance fans all over the world. Working with the netlabel Multiplex Records at the time multiplies the viral distribution of his music.

  • INFECTED MUSHROOM

Infected Mushroom – Erez Eisen and Amit Duvdevani (aka Duvdev) – has been the leading group within the global psy-trance scene for nearly a decade. Incorporating pumping, bad-ass grooves and infectious melodies and live instruments and vocals into their songs, they’ve performed live – a feat that many of their DJ peers aspire to accomplish – for well over a million people around the globe.,The band’s energetic live show has triumphed at some of the world’s biggest and most important music festivals (OMIX Festival in Mexico, Miami’s Ultra Festival, Tribe in Sao Paulo, among countless others), and they continue to regularly sell-out top clubs such as the Brixton Academy in London, Toronto’s Koolhaus at the Government, and Avalon in New York and Los Angeles. Their success as an electronic music band on the global concert circuit has translated into record sales in excess of 150,000 albums over the course of six acclaimed independent albums. Not bad for two guys from Haifa who started producing music mostly to escape boredom.,“We met in 1996 through a DJ friend,” recalls Erez. “Duvdev was in Goa at the time, and I was working on another project with a German guy. We met and tried to do one track together, and we’ve continued on since then.”,A year later, Erez and Duvdev started buying equipment and began to take Infected Mushroom – a name they stole from a disbanded local punk band – seriously. Finding little influence in Israel’s music scene, they drew inspiration from bands like Metallica and The Prodigy. Early productions led to club dates and gigs at local parties. Before long, the twosome had developed quite a loyal following. While the headlines were filled with news about violence and bloodshed, Infected Mushroom’s music touched the hearts of the burgeoning Israeli trance scene, and clubbers began looking to the band’s music for a respite from the tumultuous political situation.,“People were dying and the government saw that dealing with that as more important than abolishing trance parties,” says Erez. “And now the government is supporting trance parties. They want people to party, instead of staying home. There are places in the United States that you cannot go to because it is too dangerous because there are crazy people living there. It’s the same thing in Israel.”,Brandishing a multi-influenced trance sound that hadn’t been heard before, Erez and Duvdev were turned down by nearly every record label in Israel when they attempted to get a deal. “Nobody wanted to sign us,” recalls Erez. “We went to the biggest and smallest labels in Israel, and nobody was interested. At the time, we really believed in our music and continued looking for people to sign us. Fortunately, there was this A&R guy from BNE named Avi Youssef [and BNE’s owner, Avi Brand] who gave us a chance.”,In 1998, BNE released Infected Mushroom’s debut album, The Gathering. Inspired by the surreal ambient styles of Simon Posford, X-Dream and Transwave, it took a few months for the forward-thinking album to catch on. But once it did, the buzz within the global psy-trance scene became deafening.,The group’s second album, Classical Mushroom, was released in 2000. “This album was totally different that the first album,” says Duvdev, who, like Erez, is a classically trained musician. “Not only did we expand our style, but the album was big in Europe and Japan. It sounded totally different that the other trance music that was happening at the time.”,“The trance scene at the time was really monotonic as opposed to melodic with chords,” adds Erez. “We put a lot of classical elements into that album; it sounded different, and that’s why it stood out. At the beginning, nobody believed in that one as well.”,Infected Mushroom’s third album, B.P. Empire, followed in 2001. The combination of their live show and diverse electronic palette eventually won them the support of critics and a new legion of hardcore fans in North and South America. In 2003, Infected Mushroom issued their sprawling double-disc album, Converting Vegetarians. Perhaps one of their most ambitious recordings to date, Converting Vegetarians was a sonic departure away from trance. Leading the listener through trance, freestyle and ambient sounds, the album paved the way for 2004’s I’m The Supervisor.,“After we made the chilled-out non-danceable side to Converting Vegetarians, we wanted to make something for the trance fans that was danceable and full-on,” says Duvdev of I’m The Supervisor. “This album is trance, except for the last track. There’s more singing, and it’s the most difficult thing we’ve done. Using the voice as an instrument is tough to do. We’re like every band in that we’re trying to search for something new with every album.”,Always one step of their audience, Infected Mushroom are constantly pushing themselves. With fame and success in their homeland and in the global electronic music community, Infected Mushroom threw caution to the wind and relocated to Los Angeles in January 2005. The purpose was to take themselves out of their comfort zone in order to take their music to the next level.,“The weather is a lot like Israel’s,” says Erez, “and we still don’t know the city very well. But we’re here and we’re looking to push ourselves and do the sort of things that we couldn’t do in Israel.”,As they work in their adopted surroundings and continue to tour the world, Erez and Duvdev have added famed Israeli guitarist Erez Netz and Brazilian percussionist Rogerio Jardim to select live shows. They’re also busy finishing material for their seventh album, Vicious DeLicious, which contains a myriad of new musical explorations, from Flamenco guitar, to hip hop, to thrash-metal undertones. They have even been commissioned to remix recordings of rock legends, The Doors. But today they are especially proud to be recognized by their fans – Infected Mushroom was named #12 in DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJ list, a 14 place jump from their debut on the list last year.,While they see themselves more as an electronic band rather than a psy-trance outfit these days, their track record of producing everything from trance to downtempo makes them feel that they can realize all of their musical aspirations.,“Being in the studio is like playing a PlayStation game, where you have to pass a level each time,” says Duvdev. “That’s our goal every time we do a session. The energy that you get at the parties makes you want to go right back into the studio and create new tracks. You need to be in the studio and do the shows; they’re both connected to each other. Our mission now is the same as when we started out, and that’s to get Infected Mushroom’s music out to more people.”

Born in the UK and now settled in South America, James Monro's immersion within the music industry goes back some 30 years. Having been classically trained at school, James' musical influences diverged into a long and keen love affair with all things electronic. From his initiation into the otherworldly sounds of Yello, Jean Michelle Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Visage, Human League, Brian Eno, Georgio Moroder and the more left field electronic experimental bands of the early 80's, and combined with a deep love of the psychedelic bands of the 70's, disco and early hip hop, it was inevitable that he fall into a passionate relationship with electronic dance music. He entered into club land, journeyed through the early daze of Acid House, the uk's "summers of love" in '88 and '89 , onto the beaches of Goa in the early '90's and out into the global circuit of parties and festivals that have since become his playground. Jahan Yousaf, Yasmine Yousaf, and Kris Trindl (aka Rain Man) formed the EDM trio Krewella in Chicago, Illinois. They got together in 2007 but didn’t release their first material until 2011, when they uploaded a handful of songs — including the jagged, celebratory “Life of the Party” — to their Soundcloud page. In 2012, they self-released their first two EPs: Play Hard (June), featuring the reggae-flavored “Killin It,” and Play Harder (December). The former reached number ten on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. The same year, the trio became a staple of the festival circuit, including New York’s Electric Zoo and Texas’ Meltdown. 2013 saw the release of the groups first full-length, the bombastic Get Wet. The album spawned several singles and videos, including the sensational underground anthem “Live for the Night.”

  • M.A.N.D.Y.

There is an air of mystery shrouding the true meaning behind the acronym of M.A.N.D.Y., an alias which embodies the mutual talents of childhood friends Philipp Jung and Patrick Bodmer. The pair readily indulge this curiosity by toying with various clever possibilities, including Me AND You, but the truth is likely a giggle under each of their talented breaths. P and P have carved a unique niche in electronic music by consistently selecting productions that induce their audience into a somatic frenzy. On the platform of their aptly titled Get Physical label, M.A.N.D.Y. has achieved massive success in colluding to create music that simply makes bodies move. Their foot stamping, hair flying passion is the ultimate expression of a dance music phenomenon for many years.,When M.A.N.D.Y. and Booka Shade joined as musical soul mates with DJ T., first in Frankfurt, then in Berlin, Get Physical produced a caliber of electricity that rippled throughout the EDM community and into the relative mainstream. Philipp’s charm and savvy, Patrick’s allusive artistry, DJ T.‘s killer entrepreneurial sense and Booka Shade’s collaborative genius combined to form a masterpiece of intelligent design that reflects romantic sensibility and technical virtuosity. Together, they push the boundaries of dance music to compile an enviable arsenal of electro kissing house while caressing disco and flirting with techno. Body Language was the ubiquitous hit of 2005 and M.A.N.D.Y.’s Fabric Series three years later cemented their reputation as two of the most captivating selectors on the planet. One of their most recent prestige was a complication for Renaissance in 2009 which was met with tremendous accolades and described by Resident Advisor as “maturity, smarts, and cohesion…that is rare these days.”,Philipp and Patrick know exactly which buttons to press to make that bass jiggle up your spine and seduce your body free. Alongside many lives compadres Booka Shade, M.A.N.D.Y. has taken some time from their hectic global tour schedule to devise new, elaborations, culminating in the release of Body Language Vol. 10 in April 2011. In addition to a single release that will be the first Booka Shade vs. M.A.N.D.Y. cooperation to be heard in years, the boys have closed on a revolutionary touring show that utilizes infrared technology and a new mapping technique to project inverted video effects onto their Physical form as they perform. It is no doubt that their plans for this never before seen live visual component will conjure the kind of visceral excitement that only this duo can. In the feat of the imagination, M.A.N.D.Y. powers on through a perpetual rebirth into pulsating beats and Pretty Lights.

  • MARKUS SCHULZ

Introduction: Over the last 10 years Markus Schulz has fused the individual musical identities of progressive house & trance into his own creative, inimitable hybrid sound. Through the unique alignment of his headline DJ sets, Coldharbour label output and highly prominent Global DJ Broadcast show, he orchestrated a sea change revolution in the US trance scene – one that has gone on to have its sound influence sweep to the farthest reaches of the globe. This success has been singularly reflected in weekly headliner sets in front of many tens of thousands, a GDJB radio show listenership up in the tens of millions & one Beatport chart-topping release after another. Following several highly ranked positions in 2008 Shultz punched his way into the Top 10 of DJ Magazine’s Top 100 chart, landing at no.8. In repeating the exact same achievement in 2009, he now stands, quite unequivocally, as America’s no.1 club DJ.,Early History: Born in Eschwege, central Germany, Markus emigrated to the United States. Age 13, Markus’ dance music awakening came during the grip of the country’s then-exploding breakdance scene. His early production and DJ career roughly tracked that of the 2nd Stateside coming of House and he caught his first production break in 1993 when he remixed Sagat’s ‘Why Is It? (F** Dat)’ for Pete Tongs FFrr label. Markus’ freshman production release followed in 1994 with the 6-track-strong ‘Plastik Trax EP Vol 1’. Throughout the mid to late Nineties he continued to pull in early acclaim with a range of releases on numerous US luminary labels. In 1998 he recorded ‘You Won’t See Me Cry’ for Plastik Records (his first label), a release which was picked up by Eve Records for the UK. This became Markus’ first international calling card… the world had started to tune in.,Markus Schulz – The DJ: Through his natural audience affinity, flawless (and seemingly effortless) mixing and innate tune selection, he has wowed crowds in pretty much every major district, principality and metropolis. Schulz’s DJ career has, to the greater degree, run parallel to that of his productions. In the early Noughties, having fixed focus on the hinterland between trance & progressive, he began to reach audiences further and further afield. In 2004 he was signed to the David Lewis Productions agency (also home of the World’s No.1 DJ Armin Van Buuren) and his career took another big step forward. Now a regular fixture at the world’s biggest & most famous clubs, arenas and festivals, he lays down his unique trance-progressive vision on a weekly basis. In Europe, he’s smashed Trance Energy, Nature One & Dance Valley, worked tent-pegs loose at Creamfields & Global Gathering and brought gridlock to the Love Parade. Stateside the colossal Electric Daisy & Ultra Festivals have both felt the Schulz pressure and yet further afield still he’s induced floor upheaval in China and Australia (most recently at the Future Music Festival). After several significant showings in the Top 100 DJs chart, he now ranks as one of the top 10 DJs in the world and in 2008 was voted Best American DJ at the International Dance Music Awards.,Coldharbour Recordings: Schulz’s sound notably came quickest to the ears of continental European DJs. Following the formation of the Armada group in 2005, Armin sought Markus out and asked him to start compiling tracks for a new vinyl series. The Coldharbour Sessions EPs launched in 2004 (with the first 3 releases coming out on the already established Electronic Elements label). In quick succession they began to leave crater-like impacts on dancefloors and within 12 months Coldharbour the label was born. Named after Markus’ then-production base in London’s Coldharbour Lane, its output immediately brought a new fission sound to Armada. It also became a lightning rod for a new generation of prog-inclined producers – setting in motion the careers of (amongst others) Santiago Nino, Probspot, Mark Otten & Niklas Harding. With 2005 under the spell of Coldharbour’s more sophisticated, minimal, but still melodic take on the prog-trance sound, Markus struck again with the first Coldharbour Sessions mix compilation. Such has been the success of the imprint that in 2007 it was joined by a sub-label, Coldharbour Red. This, in turn, was a launch pad for Marcus Schössow, tyDi, Glenn Morrison & Evol Waves and was the point of re-entry for early Schulz side-project, Dakota (see Dakota section below). Six years after its birth, in 2010, Coldharbour stands at the top tier of the world’s trance & progressive labels and has reached the threshold of its 100th release.,M.S. Productions 2005 – 2010: Perfectly intersecting the quality/quantity axis, Markus’ own productions have been the most fundamental of components in marshalling clubbers and music lovers to his sound. Over the course of the last half-decade tracks like ‘First Time’ & ‘Without You Near’ (2005), ‘Fly To Colours’, ‘Never Be The Same’ & ‘I Am’ (2007) ‘Perfect’ & ‘Cause You Know’ (2008) & most recently ‘The New World’ & ‘Do You Dream’ have each played their vital part. Markus is also a keen production collaborator. In 2005 he famously teamed up with likeminded producers Gabriel & Dresden and Departure for ‘Without You Near’ and in mid-2008 did the same with Andy Moor on ‘Daydream’. The impact of all the singles has been cauterized by his studio albums ‘Without You Near’ (2005) & ‘Progression’ (2007). Schulz is currently recording his third long-player, which is scheduled for release between Qs 2&3, 2010.,The Global DJ Broadcast show: Now in its fifth year Schulz’s GDJB has continued to be a beacon for an always-growing throng of trance & progressive dance fans. Broadcast through leading station DI.fm and Sirius/XM satellite, the Global DJ Broadcast site and 50+ other FM & internet stations around the planet, it has become every bit required listening for the EDM-savvy. Based on a regular format, the first show of each month is a two hour long mix from one of Schulz’s rolling World Tour gigs – ones that have of late included Medellin, Columbia, St Petersberg, Russia & Amnesia in Ibiza. Subsequent shows in the month feature Markus mixing his broad-span pick of the current electronic dance music best for an hour (which includes the forum-voted Global Selection track of the week) followed by guest mixes from both established and up-and-coming DJs.,Markus Schulz – The City Albums: Markus is also responsible for one of the longest running and most respected compilation album series in trance/electronic dance history. Kicking off in 2005 in Miami, its city-hopping concept has gone on to spotlight Ibiza in ’06, Amsterdam in ’08 and Toronto in ’09. Providing a microcosmic view of his now instantly recognisable sound, they have become cornerstones for fans CD & mp3 collections, with each new travelogue edition bringing in a fresh wave of supporters. Notably, the Amsterdam ’08 release was nominated for an IDMA award for Best Full Length DJ Mix (in the same year that Markus took home the trophy for Best American DJ).,Remixes: Markus powered into remix action in the early 90s with a 30+ volley of high-profile reworks. Over the course of the decade he re-tooled the production works of Euro dominators like The Real McCoy & Technotronic, house masters & divas Armand Van Helden & Liz Torres, legendary Nineties icons RuPaul, Bette Midler & Sandra Bernhard and fully-fledged A-listers like Madonna. As the Millennium arrived though he began to work on deeper, more intrinsically electronic dance fare… In 2000 he remixed trance innovator Pablo Gargano’s ‘Absolution’, PQM’s Renaissance classic ‘The Flying Song’ and Fatboy Slims ‘Sunset (Bird of Prey). Satisfied that he’d found the right dance strata to focus on Markus has gone on to rewire tracks by Oceanlab, Motorcycle, Dance 2 Trance, Cosmic Gate, Nalin & Kane, Kyau & Albert, John O’Callaghan, & Space Manoeuvres amongst many, many others.,Markus Schulz aka: Dakota: Markus has only made rare use of pseudonyms through his career – seeing them as being only valuable if they represent an outlet for something other than his ‘regular’ output. At the turn of the last decade Schulz released 3 tracks (‘Swirl’, ‘Frozen’ & ‘Lost in Brixton’) under the moniker Dakota. Over time these became focal points for the year-on-year exponential intake of new fans. In 2009 Schulz paid dividend to that by resurrecting the guise, updating its sound and directed his attentions on a whole album of new Dakota material. ‘Thoughts Become Things’ was the end product and with it came a route diversion that went into a new valley-deep sound – one that expanded to embrace the fringes of techno, house and other sub-genres. It once again fortified the Schulz’s fanbase and expanded the range of DJ support for his music. The album has thus far justified 7 single releases that have included particular fan-favourites ‘Chinook’, ‘Johnny the Fox’, ‘Koolhaus’ & ‘Mr Cappuccino’.,Prepared by Tim Stark.

  • NERVO

From songwriters to artists and super-fans to superstars, electronic dance music’s first sisters – Mim and Liv Nervo of NERVO – have staged a miraculous climb o...nto the international stage, straight from the pit in front of it. These multi talented DJ dynamos are the all-time top-ranking female DJs in the world, voted by their legions of fans to No. 16 on DJ Magazine’s influential “Top 100 DJs” poll while continuing to rank as the top female DJ's in the world today. In-demand and beloved across the globe, their nonstop schedule takes them from the shimmering beaches of Ibiza, to their studio in their home-away-from-hometowns of London and LA, to the towering Main Stages of the biggest festivals in the world including Tomorrowland, Lollapalooza, Creamfields, Balaton Sound, EDC, Electric Zoo, ULTRA and many more. Everywhere they go, their infectious energy, fearless personal style, and deep love and understanding for the music precedes them. Having cemented their songwriting prowess with a global No. 1 and having written and produced hits for the likes of Kylie Minogue, Ke$ha, The Pussycat Dolls, Afrojack, Steve Aoki, Armin Van Buuren, and Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana) to name a few, and receiving a Grammy Award for writing ‘When Love Takes Over’ for David Guetta and Kelly Rowland, the sisters of NERVO from Australia have risen to stardom with their songwriting skills alone. Mim and Liv’s career caught fire in 2009, when they co-wrote the the emphatic and grand global hit “When Love Takes Over” – for David Guetta and Kelly Rowland. But their journey into dance music started years prior in the festival fields of their native Australia, when as teenagers they went all-out for life-changing electronic acts like The Prodigy, Basement Jaxx, and Fatboy Slim. “Purple hair and purple lipstick; we did it all,” says Mim. “We almost broke ribs being in the front row of the mosh pit. We were those people in the crowd for so many years, to be playing on the same bills with some of those artists now is just electrifying.” Their friends and collaborators in the world showed up to support them. “We’re All No One” with Afrojack and Steve Aoki (No. 8 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart),”The Way We See The World” with Afrojack, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike (the official anthem of Tomorrowland 2011, which has garnered over 45 million YouTube views), “Reason” with Hook N Sling, “Something to Believe In” with Norman Doray, “Like Home” with Nicky Romero (their first No. 1 topping the Beatport chart for 3 weeks), “Turn This Love Around” with Armin Van Buuren (off the No. 1 DJ’s album Intense): Their list of A-list collaborators is dance music’s longest and most enviable, and in a world dominated by bros, that’s one heck of a sister act. They can do it for themselves too: NERVO original “You’re Gonna Love Again” has over 17 million views and their 2013 single “Hold On” (#1 on the Billboard Club Play chart) has garnered 11 million views. Other releases included “Not Taking This No More” (#1 on the Beatport Electro House chart). Their single titled “Revolution”, a collaboration with R3hab and Ummet Ozcan, was released on Nov 11th via Spinnin Records and spent 3 weeks at #1 on Beatport. Numerous other releases including a chart-topping debut album ‘Collateral’ in 2015 to high critical acclaim and reaching #1 on iTunes to string of club hits of their own, it’s fair to say NERVO are credited with being one of the biggest dance acts in the business. With residencies and headlining sets at some of the top venues and events in the world including the new Las Vegas mega-clubs Omnia, Hakkasan, and Wet Republic, and Ibiza Beach Clubs Ushuaia and Hï (home to their #NERVONation parties). NERVO are also regularly embarking on Headlining tours of their own in Mexico, Europe, India, Australia and beyond! Wherever it may be the sisters are always playing to their devoted fans who wear homemade NERVO t shirts and hoist signs (“Will you marry me?”; “Lesbians for NERVO”), curve their hands into heart shapes, and post photos and poems to show their love and appreciation. NERVO has seen rapid growth across their social media channels including 1.2 million Instagram followers, 1.1 million Twitter followers, 3.7 million likes on Facebook, 338K subscribers on YouTube, 1.7 million monthly followers on Spotify, and 610K followers on Soundcloud. Style, savvy, positivity and talent: It’s no wonder that NERVO was invited to join the ranks of the legendary beauties who can call themselves CoverGirls, named to the iconic CoverGirl brand’s family of spokeswomen last year. The partnership is just one more fabulous chapter in the developing NERVO story, a tale told in sweat, smiles, nail polish, neon, and no small amount of pixie dust. Along this brand partnerships have included Tag Heuer, Coach, Ballantine's, Smirinoff, MOET, Smart Car, Pepsi, SABMiller, Burn and Monster Energy Drinks, Corona, Pioneer, and many, many more. “Let’s face it, you can be creative in many ways,” says Mim. “From wearing crazy clothes and great makeup to playing insane tunes. • NETSKY

Rarely have we seen someone rise through the ranks as quickly as 21 year old Boris Daenen, a.k.a Netsky. Having a Belgian passport doesn’t often turn D+B heads, so you can be sure it’s his tunes which do the talking. Having secured releases on some of the biggest labels in the scene, gained DJ support from the likes of Friction, Hype, Fabio and London Elektricity, the young Belgian from Edegem near Antwerp earned a nomination as “Best Upcoming Producer” at the Drum + Bass Arena Awards in 2008 and fulfilled this ambition two years on with is “Best Newcomer Producer” award in 2010.,Leading a wave of new skool D+B talent from Europe with his blend of uplifting, melancholic melodies and heavy dancefloor bass + beats, Netsky’s popularity as both a DJ and producer is second to none.,He first came to Hospital’s attention with ‘Smile’ and was quickly snapped up, signing exclusively to Hospital in late 2009. Netsky’s first release on Hospital was the iconic ‘Memory Lane’ (featured on Sick Music 2 in 2010) and this was swiftly followed up by his chart topping debut album – ‘Netsky’ – in May of the same year. Following virtually unanimous praise and hype from all corners of the globe, it plunged Netsky firmly into the limelight, where he has remained ever since, delivering a potent mix of dancefloor anthems, vocal led classics and clean cut new jungle sound which has become his trademark.,Since then, Netsky’s profile as a remixer has been affirmed by his huge remixes of ubiquitous anthems such as Pendulum – ‘Witchcraft’, Plan B, Leftfield – ‘Release The Pressure’, Audio Bullies – ‘Only Man’ and Swedish House Mafia – ‘One’.,Alongside this, is Netsky’s hectic DJ schedule which regularly takes him across Europe, the UK and around the world. His skills behind the decks are enviable and he seems to have a Midas touch; able to transform even the most subdued of arties into an ecstatic, bouncing rave within a matter of minutes and it is no coincidence that he was nominated for the Radio One ‘Essential Mix Of The Year’ last year. With more big plans lined up and work towards a new album underway, 2011 will is looking to be another golden year for Belgium’s premium D+B export.

  • ROBIN SCHULZ

Robin Schulz (ENGLISH),The story of Robin Schulz is a success story. The german DJ, producer and label owner is an absolute star in analog and digital realms. He not only impresses with sounds, but also with numbers. The first time DJing with 17, the first own parties with 20, the big breakthrough shortly after. He has reached several million plays with his most successful tracks since then and melted away minds in countless clubs, at small and big festivals and a vast number of headphones of the mobile generation. The music of Robin gets under the skin, grabs the soul at the root and leaves one floating through the air on a cloud.,“You are what you produce!” is the motto, which he deploys since summer 2013, not only on his own productions, but also for the releases on his label Lausbuben Records, which he successfully runs with Daniel Bruns and Christopher Noble. The lightheartedness of the two previously released EPs will also develop the label into a million-Click Wonder – just like Robin himself.,It initially all started small. It is not for nothing that his first own parties in Osnabrück clubs bore the name Electroschnipsel (German for Electro snippets). But organizing parties on a permanent basis was not, what Robin wanted. It was rather the feeling of having his own steady hand on the tiller and conning the crowd, what he wanted to experience. And that’s all he does today. With beautiful melodies and catchy vocals, his music plants a pleasantly warm feeling deep in the heart. It is the colorful world of confetti, glitter and bubbles and the incarnation of a carefree day, he embodies. A recipe for success, that has meanwhile brought him to half of Europe as a DJ & Live Act and repeatedly across the globe on the Internet.,Robin Schulz (DEUTSCH),Aus dem Leben eines Lausbuben,Die Geschichte von Robin Schulz ist eine Erfolgsgeschichte.

He has cranked out more dance floor destroyers, sold-out gigs, number one records, and awards than most artists do in a lifetime.,With the help of classics like Grasshopper, Punk’d and Riff, recent hits like Love is Darkness and ofcourse massive collabs and remixes of The Killers (Spaceman), Sia (The Girl You Lost To Cocaine), Robbie Williams (Close My Eyes) and Depeche Mode (Peace) Sander shrugged off the confines of genre typecasting long ago and created something he preferres to call ‘SvD-style’.,Besides his busy production schedule, Sander has worked tirelessly to bring his radioshow ‘Identity’ and his clubbing concept, Dusk till Doorn to fruition. And if this mountain of accomplishments were not enough, he somehow makes time to produce his quarterly ‘how-to’ show called ‘Studio Sessions’ on his YouTube channel (SanderVanDoornTV).,With a tour diary that sees the superstar play to more than a million fans each year, there’s no doubt that Sander Van Doorn is one of dance music’s favorite sons.
