Event Awakenings is a series of festival like events both inside and outside on different dates all over the year. The old-school rave atmosphere will be hard to beat at Awakenings, which at Easter is actually split across four individual nights in the industrial Gashouder building at the Westergas.

ABSTRACT DIVISION
Abstract Division is a persisting collaboration of Paul Boex and Dave Miller. Next to dj-ing, producing and managing the label Dynamic Reflection, the duo also hosts their own DECODE event series in Holland. With over 25 years of collective experience under their belt, the established duo of Abstract Division is bringing deep and energetic techno sets to any club, rave or festival. Their productions sound underground, yet refreshing and each new one marks a subtle evolution in sound. Paul is an experienced dj, producer and label-boss of the Dynamic Reflection imprint, including the new sublabel The Nursery, aimed to bring focus on talented, upcoming producers. Dave has earned his stripes through his productions on Audiosculpture, his longstanding career of vinyl-only sets and his more recent work as an audio engineer. Combining their love and keen ears for techno, their sets are spontaneous, but always have a strong story line and evolving flow. Abstract Division likes to build and surprise, but always with keeping an eye on the crowd.

DJ ANNA
ANNA is one of Brazil's finest exports and she's quickly climbing the ranks with her seductive yet heavy-hitting brand of techno. ‘Hidden Beauties’, her track on Kompakt’s revered Speicher series, had a seismic impact. It was played everywhere from Panorama Bar to Awakenings and supported by the likes of Sven Väth, Marcel Dettmann, Chris Liebing, Richie Hawtin and Adam Beyer. Praised by Pitchfork and selected by Mixmag as one of the best tracks of the year, it was no.1 on Beatport’s techno chart for 4 months. What followed has been a slew of top-shelf releases on some of the world’s most respected techno imprints, with critically acclaimed EPs on Clash Lion, Nova Mute and a remix for Scuba’s SCB project on Hotflush. No surprise Adam Beyer took notice, selecting ANNA’s ‘Portable Paradise’ for inclusion on his acclaimed Drumcode A-Sides.
