LOKIER
Lokier Born and raised in Mexico City, but more recently based out of Barcelona and Berlin, she’s certainly the most interesting figure emerging from the European dance music scene at the moment. Although rooted in techno and electro, her ominous vibe combines elements of industrial, goth and post-punk into her repertoire. Inspired by a life-long passion for horror movies and a love of creepy crawlies, Lokier’s audio and visual aesthetics are simpatico. But unlike those somber overtones, you can tell from interviews that the burgeoning DJ and producer is a bubbly and goofy character underneath. And it's that mix of light and dusk that gives her dark sound it’s defining personality - it’s fun! That balance of doom and joy can be found across her excellent EPs for labels like Pinkman and Squirrels On Film - along with a variety of well-regarded remixes for The Soft Moon, The Golden Filter, Eric Copeland, MR TC, and others.
