about
New Year, Same Shenanigans and a last minute transmission from South London.

We’ve got the Infa Red head honcho, BLUETOOF as our first guest of 2024, to help kick start the year right. A RinseFM resident with releases on ec2a and FABRIC Originals BLUETOOF is no stranger to the biggest stages in the UK, moving up and down the country like a prime Andy Cole. Straight from South London’s vibrant scene and into HK’s bassy percussy obsessions, this is a showcase you would not want to miss.

For fans of tight snares and wubs, piano breaks and dubs, and the odd stonkin’ bass face in clubs. So get your booty on the floor, and make our day.

Supported by BUSYBOI, HRD.ept and Fry Up.

  • Bluetoof

Despite having garnered a steadfast reputation for his eclectic, fluid sets packed with hearty bass and forward-thinking percussion, alongside support from a consortium of the underground's brightest — Bluetoof is anything but riding the wave of his success. Instead, this South London-based DJ, producer, and label head is an artist in a state of metamorphosis, looking to redefine his work and explore his own identity. Born in Scotland, but raised in Kent, Bluetoof - aka Ben Farjani - was exposed to an "eclectic mix" of music from his parents, who had worked within Glasgow's clubbing industry in the '90s — US garage, house, R&B, "lots of hip hop.

  • Social Room is a loft-style, multi-functional flexible 2100 sq. ft. event space in Central, Hong Kong, ideally located next to the Central Escalator. We serve light lunch from M-F and have regular resident DJs playing until late on weekends. From the crew behind Bassment, one of Hong Kong's most beloved spaces for underground music, comes a new concept designed to expand and enhance the underground experience. The Social Room, perched above the Stanley St. market in Central, has two distinct but conjoined areas: a relaxed bar area with seating, harking back to the outdoor terrace at Bassment; and a large dancefloor area with a raised stage and DJ booth. With an improved soundsystem, double the floor space, and a third floor view, we will continue to bring the vibe of Bassment to Hong Kong in a brand new space. In addition to acting as a home for underground DJs and bands, the open space is also available to rent for corporate and private events, pop-up events, and art exhibitions. Lunch is also served during the week from Monday to Friday, 12pm - 3pm, with affordable pasta lunch sets and other goodies.
