Over the last ten years, Gumm graduated from being an active promoter hosting renegade parties in obscure public spaces, to performing at Melbourne's biggest festivals including Let Them Eat Cake, Pitch Music & Arts and smalltown. As one of the co-founder’s of the city's Darklove brand, he's hosted international acts from The Drifter to Damon Jee, to go with his regular bookings supporting Maceo Plex, DJ Koze, Jennifer Cardini, Job Jobse, Ben Klock, ANNA, Folamour, Mind Against and more. With many exciting productions in the pipeline, including a release on Berlin-based Ombra International, Gumm is well situated to be at the Melbourne forefront of a new compelling global sound with roots in genres like nu-wave, indie-dance and nu-disco.

Berlin born DJ, producer and label owner Ben Klock is without a doubt one of the most significant characters in techno’s recent history. A resident at Berghain since its opening in 2004, he has been able to leave his mark on the club’s unique sound, in turn the special space influenced Klock’s approach as a DJ and producer as well. Playing techno sets full of hypnotic, deep and heavy grooves, releasing records on Ostgut Ton and last but not least the aesthetics of his own label Klockworks (founded in 2006), have earned him an excellent international reputation over the last few years. A purveyor of anything soulful and a deeply rooted Melbourne brother who quite simply has a passion for everything about music. A member of one of the hardest working Hip-Hop bands in Australia, touring nationally and internationally, Joey Coco decided to give into his childhood love of House music - quickly playing clubs and festivals country-wide. With his incredibly seamless mixing and music knowledge, he melds House, Techno and Disco together with a Hip-House flare. 2019 also sees an introduction to the original production side of Joey Coco. With years of experience crafting, song-writing and performing across genres - he brings a touch of soul, breaks and vintage sampling and combines them with the classic electronic style that has garnered his adoration. With influences ranging from Robert Hood and Moodymann to Nas and D’Angelo - there is a true sense of spirit found throughout his music, which he cannot wait to share with the masses.

Many DJs try to avoid the tags and pinholes that genres create. Most of them fail to do so. However, most of them aren’t Melbourne authority Katie Pearson. A blank insignia, Katie has avoided this through a unique, yet authentic musical journey. She has long been at the forefront of Australia’s queer dance scene, most notably as co­host of “gay ass disco”, The Outpost. However, when you can regularly produce moments of dance floor ecstasy that Front Leftists thought only possible in the ’90s, you quickly become the scenes worst kept secret.

Spain-based producer Eric Estornel initially reserved the name Maceo Plex for his festival-friendly house productions before gradually taking the project into a darker, more introspective direction. After establishing himself in the techno world for his work as Maetrik beginning in the early 2000s, and exploring more abstract electro and IDM as Mariel Ito around the middle of the decade, he began releasing some of his most accessible tracks under the Maceo Plex handle starting in 2009. Over the course of the following decade, the project evolved from deep, sexy house with prominent Chicago and Detroit influences (such as on debut full-length Life Index) to a significantly more dramatic sound (particularly the ambitious Solar). Veteran of the DJ circuit, Max is well remembered for his long-term Saturday night residency at the very iconic now defunct St. Jerome's where he was delivering a 5 hours set on a weekly basis for 5 years until it closed down. Over his 17 years in Melbourne Max has been holding many residencies as well as guest spots in many bars, Clubs, Warehouse Parties and Festivals like Rainbow Serpent, Earthcore, Maitreya, Strawberry Fields, Yemaya, Big Day Out, Kiss My Grass, Stereosonic New Caledonia. Stephan Bodzin has been a hugely influential figure within the global techno scene for years. The reason the German has endured where many had fallen by the wayside is because of his devotion to authenticity. “Without it, everything would appear to be nothing more than a hollow shell,” says the son of an experimental musician who is now a revered talent in his own right. After starting out by composing music for several prestigious European theatres, Stephan Bodzin soon fell in love with nocturnal club sounds and began producing his own brand of techno. He impressed right from the off and has gone on to work with Oliver Huntemann under myriad aliases including Rekorder or with Marc Romboy including on albums like “Luna” and more recently “Kerberos & Styx” in 2014. First blowing a gale as a forerunner of the new wave of Melbourne dance producers, Tornado Wallace’s distinct and perceptive electronics now find him in a constant rotation of both hemispheres, spending most of the year based in Berlin. From formative house beginnings, the ESP Institute initiation Thinking Allowed proved Tornado Wallace as a force to be reckoned with - the driving groove and Will Powers stargazing quickly matched by an EP of eco-electro burners on Beats In Space. This two timing continued for another round with ESP issuing the elegant Circadia, while Beats In Space got their churning acid two-tracker Kangaroo Ground/Ferntree Gully. In tandem, krautback duo Coober Pedy University Band was formed with Otologic’s Tom Moore, who he’d previously stirred up trouble with as fractions of C Grade and Animals Dancing - two long standing parties of undeniable impact on their hometown. Their trance inducing debut on Soft Rocks' imprint Kinfolk recruited vocals from a lesser known Chet Faker, followed by the bonkers 2014 anthem Kookabura.
