about
You don’t have to go far nowadays to find someone that has heard of Ellie Cocks. The London-bred DJ/Producer has been an impacting figure in the UK scene at a grass-roots level and has scaled to dizzy new heights in recent years. An artist with a tastefully diverse musical background raised on a staple diet of Motown, soul, jazz, hip hop and everything in between.
Ellie allows her soulful roots to subtly fragrant her work in a way that gives her an unprecedented musical identity.

You could describe her sound as stripped-back and weighty, with tireless emphasis on rolling, dubby, heavyset grooves. Ellie’s distinct acoustic signature has earned her a seamlessly growing amount of support at many levels within the industry, from ravers to bookers and promoters alike; her charismatic energy and passion have found her consistently championed.
The DJ Mag ‘Best Of British’ award winner and ABODE resident is a dab hand in the studio, too.

  • BODY & SOUL

Body&SOUL was founded in 1996 by François K. and John Davis. The Sunday afternoon party, which took place at Club Vinyl in New York’s Tribeca area, soon became one of New York's most revered weekly parties. The three DJs, Danny Krivit, Joaquin ‘Joe’ Claussell and François K. delivered a unique soulful mix of very organic and spiritual dance music grooves, and became standard-bearers for New York house. On any given Sunday at Body&SOUL, people from all walks of life, all ages, all races, raised their hands in the air and gave thanks for the unifying force that brought them back week after week: the music. Danny Krivit’s professional DJ status began at the "Loft", New York's musical center in the 70’s and a mecca for DJs. There, he began a long term collaboration with Larry Levan and François K. Danny has been famous for his edits, has been DJing for over 30 years and has an impressive knowledge in rare disco and jazz. He has recently released mixed compilations on Strut, King Street and Defected.

  • Green Velvet

Curtis Alan Jones has a laundry list of monikers he has gone by since his first appearance in the dance music scene in 1991. However, he is best known as Green Velvet and Cajmere. Inspired by the house music craze in the 80s, Jones picked himself up a keyboard, 4-track, and drum machine to try his hand at making music. It turned out he had a knack for it and in 1991, under Cajmere, he began releasing music. In 1992, he started his own label, Cajual Records, and released “Brighter Days”, a collaboration with superstar dance music singer, Dajae. The song hit number 2 on  the Billboard Dance Music Charts. Modern-day publications like Rolling Stone and MixMag have included the single on their lists detailing the best house tracks to date. In ‘95, under the name Green Velvet and on his new label Relief Records, Jones released another single “Flash” that too, skyrocketed to the top of the charts. He continued to produce bangers, putting out albums under the name Green Velvet.

  • MC Chalkie White

Chalkie White became an MC back in 1989 for Genesis, Weekend World, Biology, Energy and Dreamscape until 1991. He first got into the scene by being persistent and knowing exactly what was required to be a decent MC and just how to introduce the DJs on the night. Chalkie was one of the first of his kind and after a short break in his career, he picked up his mic in 2008 and started that comical ball rolling again!!!! He's still going strong only now the hunger to get to the top of his game is bigger, louder and even funnier than before. Onetime resident at Camden Palace, Astoria's Orange/Crazy Club and Fantasy FM. When asked to name an event that he is most proud of 'Freedom to Party' was top on that list. In January 1990 Chalkie stood alongside our party veterans and fronted the then establishments distaste for the Acid House scene. Its thanks to such actions that we now have our Freedom to Party and clubbing is what it is today!

  • Roger Sanchez

The crafting of Roger Sanchez, the DJ, started in the late 80s, where as a young man he was enticed by the explosion of hip-hop that was taking over the city. Embracing the culture as a b-boy and graffiti artist, he would hit parties on the Bronx River and before long, his friends had him trying his hand on the wheels of steel. In a time and place where hip hop, house music, and “turntablism” all collided in a perfect storm of creativity, opportunity, and sick beats, Roger seized his moment and began to build his empire on vinyl and slip mats, starting with a few singles and expanding into a massive collection of over two thousand original productions and remixes. Releasing music under a multitude of monikers, including the S-Man, Underground Solution, The Funkjunkeez, and Transatlantic Soul, just to name a few, Roger has been able to maintain the essence of his sound, his flavor, while still using each alter ego as a tool to expand on various fresh and experimental sounds. ~ Soundcloud

  • Skream

London-based producer/DJ Skream (Ollie Jones) played a vital role in the development and popularity of dubstep during the 2000s. Following early collaborations with fellow genre pioneers Benga and Loefah, he released one of dubstep's most easily recognizable tracks, "Midnight Request Line," in 2005. His tracks and remixes helped shift the genre from being a darker, more minimalist form of club music to something more melodic and accessible, paving the way for its mainstream popularity by the beginning of the 2010s. Skream's biggest commercial success was his involvement as part of dubstep supergroup Magnetic Man (with Benga and Artwork), whose self-titled debut album reached number one on the U.K. dance chart. However, while primarily associated with dubstep, Skream has never limited himself to one genre, and much of his work since the mid-2010s has explored house and techno. ~ AllMusic

Australian DJ and producer Sonny Fodera cut his teeth on straightforward house sounds before evolving to include elements of pop and other strains of electronic music. He merged four-on-the-floor bangers with EDM-flavored snare rolls and drops on his 2019 release Rise. Frequently FlyingBased out of Melbourne, Fodera began making music as a hip-hop producer in his teens, but his muse turned to house when he heard Derrick Carter's booming dance tracks. In his early twenties, Fodera was working as a DJ and making tracks of his own, debuting with the It's Time EP in 2013 on house maven Cajmere's Cajual Records label. A proper full-length, Moving Forward, was released later that year, and the more collaborative After Parties & Aeroplanes arrived the next year featuring appearances from Ari Lourdes, Low Steppa, Doorly, and many others. ~ AllMusic

  • Todd Edwards

Todd Edward Imperatrice, known professionally as Todd Edwards, is an American house and garage record producer, DJ and singer from Bloomfield, New Jersey. He currently resides in Los Angeles. Edwards' music has been recognized as a major influence on the nascent UK garage genre in the United Kingdom in the mid-1990s. He became known for his intensive sampling and remixing technique that involves chopping vocal samples into micro-sized sections.[2] Used both on his solo albums and on his remixes for other artists, this complex vocal sampling technique in some cases renders the original track almost unrecognizable. With remixes numbering in the hundreds, some of the artists Edwards has remixed include Wildchild, St. Germain, Benjamin Diamond, Justice, Klaxons and Dimitri from Paris. Edwards co-produced and performed vocals on the Daft Punk song "Face to Face" from the album Discovery. Edwards worked again with Daft Punk, co-writing, co-producing and contributing
