Ed Steele delivers an album called 'Killing Time' on D-Nox's consistently superb Sprout imprint. (August 2020)
Ed, originally from Oxford in England, but recently moved to Devon, returns to Sprout, fully armed with a virtual mountain of goodness, so let's start with the music, and we kick off with the very dramatic 'Double Take'. A haunting affair, full of drive and a moody layered soundscape, dark and mysterious, until the break lands where little glimpses of light poke through, before slamming back in to some peak time melodic techno action.
We head a little deeper with 'Savour The Moment', but again are treated to some haunting elements, as this intense monster unfurls its magic, full of drive and some melancholic melodics.
'Killing Time' is a sci-fi inspired bleepy melodic winner, with hints to yesteryear, yet sounding fresh and cutting edge. Big and bold!
