about
Chris ‘Daddy’ Lai is the product of modern-day eclecticism: he is a songwriter, producer, co-founder of Zepa Records, film composer and disc jockey. In all his pursuits, he seamlessly blends genres to craft a unique voice that is both vital and provocative in today’s time.
As a DJ, Christopher has performed at various leading radio stations, venues and festivals including Fauve Radio, Hong Kong Community Radio, Potato Head, the Art of the Wild Festival and the Shi Fu Miz Autumn Edition in 2019. Dissatisfied with the state of music in Asia, he co-founded Zepa Records in late 2018 to cultivate visual and musical talent across the Asia Pacific region, forming a collaborative hub of like-minded creators.
As a composer and lead guitarist, he contributed his efforts to the indie jazz-folk band, Sun Eskimos, and co-wrote their debut EP released under Untitled Records Asia. The EP's single, "A Little Little", topped Hong Kong radio charts.
