  • Deborah Rolls

Turntablist and passionate about minimal music, Deborah Rolls made her debut on the French Riviera in 2008 before heading several years in Singapore where she regularly spinned for the Octopus Garden parties. Back to Paris, she set up L'Appel du 8 Mars (acronym A8M) in partnership with Lou Berlinger in 2018. The concept: organising an annual event on the International Women's Day gathering local female artists and leaders within the electronic music industry. It starts with round tables to give ladies a time to speak up and is followed by a public event where artists perform their lives and DJ sets.

  • DJ Tynee

Real name Elaine Shin, TYNEE ( “Tiny”) grew up in New York City. She was once told by her Mom that by age 3 she knew the significance of a soundsystem. It is somewhat sacred and not to be fiddled with unless one knows what he/she is doing. She would stretch out both her little arms to block her approach and say,‘ No Mom, you don’t know how to play with these, you might break them.” At age seven, her parents bought her her first ghetto blaster. Music became a daily part of her life and she never imagined life without music. Tynee began clubbing during the dawn of House music. She saw many of today’s legendary DJs just starting to make a name for themselves back then. Little Louie Vega (Masters At Work), and DJ Red Alert, were a few names that gave Tynee her first taste of dance and club music. During the high school years, the scope of music that made her hairs stand up and have goose bumps included the U.K. sounds of New Order, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode and O.M.D.

  • Ocean Lam

Strip away the flashy elements of “nightlife” to reveal the core of it all: the artist, the music and artistry; all of which Ocean Lam has built and cultivated with drive and passion over more than a decade. With a signature sound void of pretension and any need to be trendy, enveloping listeners with her own personality and story as basslines pump and roll between slicing snares adrift delicate vocals. Continuously spiraling and building upwards, playful and bouncing but no less severe or moody, Ocean Lam’s sound is atmospheric, shifting moods and energies whichever way she sees fit. A leader of Hong Kong’s growing electronic music scene and a long-standing female maverick in the overall Asian scene, Ocean Lam holds residences at Hong Kong’s top underground clubs, oma and Social Room, while serving as Social Room’s Music Director. She tirelessly works and collaborates regularly with local DJs and crews, as well as exposing the local audience to regional a...

  • Social Room is a loft-style, multi-functional flexible 2100 sq. ft. event space in Central, Hong Kong, ideally located next to the Central Escalator. We serve light lunch from M-F and have regular resident DJs playing until late on weekends. From the crew behind Bassment, one of Hong Kong's most beloved spaces for underground music, comes a new concept designed to expand and enhance the underground experience. The Social Room, perched above the Stanley St. market in Central, has two distinct but conjoined areas: a relaxed bar area with seating, harking back to the outdoor terrace at Bassment; and a large dancefloor area with a raised stage and DJ booth. With an improved soundsystem, double the floor space, and a third floor view, we will continue to bring the vibe of Bassment to Hong Kong in a brand new space. In addition to acting as a home for underground DJs and bands, the open space is also available to rent for corporate and private events, pop-up events, and art exhibitions. Lunch is also served during the week from Monday to Friday, 12pm - 3pm, with affordable pasta lunch sets and other goodies.
