Simtub grew up in the UK during the heydays of the hacienda movement in Northern England amidst the rise of the underground Rave culture and when superclubs such as Cream and Fabrics dominated the scene. From those experiences he harboured a deep connection to Electronic Dance Music. With a seemingly distinct passion for the more melodic and uplifting sound, he started collecting a trove of vinyls during weekend visits to record stores. This eventually manifested into Djing out regularly at parties around England during his University life. His most fond memory of that period was to have been fortunate to grace the decks at Ministry of Sound Club and Pacha in London.
