DJ Esco is known as many things: the coolest DJ in the world, iconic Magic City DJ and Future’s very loyal DJ who exploded into mainstream stardom with his now classic cameo in the internet-breaking “Where Ya At?” video.
Since the release of Future’s Purple Reign, DJ Esco has surprisingly stayed off the internet, where he’s stated that he believes that critical reviews cloud his judgment about how he make and releases music. Esco also plans to drop his first album this year. “It’s going to have several artists on there. I’ll also be introducing an artist this year from Atlanta. Get ready for that,” He says.
"It’s been quiet before the storm. I ain’t talked to nobody since it came out. I pretty much turned my phones off. I really have not been on social media or anything for real since Purple Reign [dropped]. I do that when I drop stuff. I don’t like to read blogs about when I drop music because I didn’t drop it for the blogs. I dropped it for the people. So when you drop things, so-called music people have their opinions about what you just made. I’m not one to listen to too many people's opinions. I just take the other route. Instead of reading them and making myself frustrated, I just don’t read them at all because I put out what I wanted to put out and I'm happy about that,” he said.
