Nanogram is the Hong Kong-based DJ project of Jason Ng. Since 2017, Nanogram has evolved through different genres ultimately finding his unique style of blending techno, industrial, and experimental electronic music. Heavily inspired by post-punk and industrial music culture, Nanogram has since determined to bring the dystopian sound to Hong Kong. Realizing the lack of well-tuned sound systems and a music-focused venue in Hong Kong, which limits the possibility of enjoying the far left segment of electronic music, Nanogram found a team of like-minded and driven individuals to build 宀 Club together and started his event series at the club – Entropy 熵, which emphasizes on experimentation on the art of selection, mixing and live performances. Nanogram is a resident DJ of 宀 Club and has performed alongside Phase Fatale, Mr. Ho, Sinus O, and more. He has also performed at a renowned experimental venue in Tokyo, KGR Tokyo, and has contributed a podcast mix to C-Kay’s Coma Hole series.

Casey Anderson’s take on house and techno is based on his deep respect for dance music’s roots: Detroit techno, Soul Train funk, and cosmic German electronic music. Ignoring charts, trends and clichés, his DJ sets are playful and unpredictable. Casey is constantly connecting new dots between obscure, classic and futuristic 4/4 dance music without shying away from the unexpected 80s synthpop or a disco anthem at peak hour. In 2013 the American-born DJ released his first tracks on Italian label Opilec Music (alongside inspirations like Derrick May and Todd Terje) before joining fellow Hong Kong DJ Frederic Neve to launch Typhoon 8 Records where he has continued to release deep, dubby techno and house. With a djing journey of more than 15 years, Darker Than Wax co-founder Dean Chew is a highly respected dj, selector, radio host from South East Asia. Ever since the early formative years of immersing himself in raves and secret house parties during his uni years in Australia, Dean Chew aka Funk Bast*rd has been on the musical journey as for long as he can remember. He has cut his teeth playing in the legendary Zouk club / Velvet Underground in Singapore since the early 2010s and has grown a robust community around his Darker Than Wax parties and activations around the island. Together with co-founder Kaye, the duo have been tirelessly pushing and promoting an alternative expression of leftfield music through the label, as well as recruiting like-minded souls to join in their cause. New Delhi-raised, Bali-based DJ, DITA. New Delhi raised, Bali-based artist DITA began her DJ-ing career in 2014 after being exposed to the varying perspectives constituting Indonesia’s music culture. Exploring the sounds with a keen ear and a growing excitement, DITA established her collective “Interrupted” which solidified her eclectic practice as she bounced between Jakartan and Balinese dance-floors. Armed with musical prowess and an infectious spirit, you can now find DITA with a wide-range of versatile selections including Proto-House, Disco, 90’s breaks, Balearic and beyond. ‍ DITA’s nuanced sound curated over the years has seen her play on stages such as Boiler Room, Wonderfruit Festival, all across Australia and at Potato Head Bali where she is a key resident.

London-based DJ, promoter and NTS radio host. Boss at Osàre! Editions. Many DJs claim to be champions of free-spirited eclecticism, but few truly break boundaries or swerve convention. Step forward Elena Colombi, a DJ and radio host whose inspired sets are not only open-minded and mind-altering, but also seek to toy with the emotions of listeners and dancers via shifts in intensity, tone, light and shadow. Her distinctive approach is truly unique, in part thanks to a widescreen grasp of different musical cultures, sounds and rhythms, born out of travelling the world with her family from a young age. This nomadic approach is something that Colombi still embraces. After ten years living in London and making her mark in the city’s electronic music underground and a brief relocation to Brussels, the artist is now based in Amsterdam, where she can be found contributing to the vital local scene whilst focusing on her new label, Osàre! Editions. Launched in the summer of 2019, the imprint was inspired by the Italian translation of ‘daring’ or ‘bold’. In keeping with Colombi’s approach to DJing, the label will provide a home for future-facing music shot through with forward-thinking experimentation and abandon, and imbued with a sense of complete freedom, transcending expectations of time or genre. This approach is a neat fit with her musical style, which taps into a wide range of influences and inspirations old and new. Since she began her journey through DJ culture, the Italian artist has prioritised energy and emotion over form and function, paying particular attention to obscure and undiscovered artists. While ‘anything goes’ is undoubtedly her mantra, her dynamic sets are perfectly balanced with the kind of effortless flow that many DJs fail to master with a lifetime of practice. As well as documenting her far-reaching taste via her monthly NTS shows, Elena has contributed outstanding mixes for FACT and Crack Magazine, Beats In Space, Intergalactic FM, Digital Tsunami and Dekmantel, where she also took part in a live discussion with John Talabot on the Art of DJing, a panel that was recorded by Resident Advisor and later broadcast as part of the RA Exchange podcast series. On the festival circuit she’s made appearances at Dekmantel, Club To Club, Nuits Sonores, ADE, Unsound and more, together with an annual residency for the boutique UK festival Field Maneuvers and a quarterly curated night at Belgrade’s Club Drugstore. Her outsider-led approach also gained recognition from the established art world, going back-to-back with homegrown Manchester legend Jon K at the Whitworth Art Gallery (a feat repeated at Atonal in Berlin), as well as bringing her selections to the Tate Modern in London for the Tate Lates series. The different strands of Colombi’s DJ career are almost as diverse and otherworldly as her on-point selections, a reflection of her ability to translate her vast music knowledge and sets to differing environments. Yet it’s in clubs that her celebrated talents hit home hardest.

Finsent C is an artist native to Hong Kong, who has seen his sound evolve innumerably since his initial foray into DJing in 2009. Having been a drummer and member of a local band in his formative years, he eventually sought refuge in electronic music; cultivating a sound that can best be described as fluid, and with an emphasis on the hypnotic spectrum of techno. He perceives sets as flowing journeys, which requires time, and an element of patience to achieve. His music project - Cipher, is a metaphor for his musical direction and vision – 'experiencing' parties that verge on the ritualistic, to which point they have been described as otherworldly. Artists both locally and internationally continue to be invited to express their various forms of deep, experimental and meditative sounds.

Hibiya Line is not Japanese. Behind that name hides Dan, a Swiss-Vietnamese guy who in 2006 began playing live acts mixing beats, house and techno in his hometown of Lausanne, Switzerland with two friends. They quickly made a name for themselves were invited to play in some of the most prestigious clubs and festivals around the country such as the Montreux Jazz Festival, Paleo, and Motel Campoto name a few. His deep immersion in the Swiss party scene eventually brought him to Saigon in 2012, and in 2013, he opened The Observatory. Since then, Hibiya Line has become known as one of the most versatile and resilient DJs in the region, with more than enough capacity and drive to take full control of dance floors from the sundown to sunrise. Hibiya Line’s sound explores the house, disco and techno, but his dancefloor can always expect to experience some open-ended style tracks thrown in that make the audio journey more diverse and interesting...

Hugo first discovered underground house and techno when he worked as an event photographer in 2010. The bold and mesmerizing tunes he heard at legendary venues Yumla and Bassment piqued his interest in the art of DJing. With his photography on hiatus since 2017, Hugo now plays consistent, well-curated sets to diverse audiences. Hugo's taste in 4/4 dance music can best be described as “very deep”, but he also enjoys experimenting with hip hop and indie rock – the two genres he grew up with - when the moment is right. Arriving at each gig with an external hard drive worth of uncompressed music, there are always the right tunes at Hugo's disposal, for a bar session, club night or beach party. Hugo has played at some of Hong Kong's most notable events and venues including Acadana, Fauve Radio, Mihn Club, Oma, Schweinehund Teknival and Shi Fu Miz Festival.

Kicking off his career as a DJ in 2008. His quest in music has gone unstrained, digging deep from Electro, Indie Dance, and Dubstep to House and techno/Experimental style. 2013, Berlin nourished his music production, and gigs in Urban Spree, Berlin. Jonathan Kusuma is a musician, producer and DJ based in Singapore and Jakarta. Running his label and Parties Dekadenz in Jakarta, a resident DJ in Headquarters and Tuff Club in Singapore. His main releases have been under the influential music labels I’m a Cliché (Paris) (Automatone EP, 2016) and Cocktail d’Amore (Berlin) (Black Magic EP, 2016), Cocktail d’Amore 10 Anniversary Compilation 2019. Kusuma has also been released by various internationally respected labels, such as Correspondant (Berlin)'s compilations (2016 and 2017), Ene Records (Japan), Power Station (Melbourne). He has also done remixes for Correspondant, Roam Recording (Los Angeles), La Belle Records(Paris), Calypso (Mexico), Hard Fist (Lyon) and Tom Tom Disco (UK). Featuring deep and experimental sounds, TRI assembles a series of raves verging on the edge, exploring the possibility of contemporary techno. Marco has been DJing at various electronic music clubs including Mihn, Oma, and Social Room (Hong Kong), Oil (Shenzhen), Lantern (Beijing), Savage (Hanoi), Beton Brut (Korea) as well as music festivals like Sonar, Wonderfruit, Shi Fu Miz – Boiler Room and among others.

DJ Misty Penguin started life when transwoman Beatrice sneaked inside the DJ booth of local underground mecca Acadana and fondled the decks. Her isolated presence as a trans person allowed her time to immerse herself into endless genres of music. Misty Penguin plays around with the Yin and the Yang in her, her sunny outlook and life attitude pushed her to become 'Yang' Misty, playing sensual positive grooves to jack your body and has DJed for opening and closing parties at Eaton HK and 宀 Gallery. Only when she relapse into 'Yin' Misty will she occasionally play an intense set at local techno stronghold OMA or others,

Under alias MLCH hides Florian Mélinette, co-founder of FuFu and Hong Kong based Dj. Music lover from his boyhood, this french guy spend most of his time digging in order to drop the secret weapons and classics, switching from Chicago House to Deep atmosphere without forgetting some funky/disco tunes. He play with passion and a desire to get a whole club bouncing. He already played alongside international artists such as Move D, Jayda G, Christopher Rau, Pablo Valentino, Trus'me, Soichi Terada, Jus-Ed, Lay-Far, Crackazat, Sameed,... His favorite expression: " When the drummers change their beats, the dancers must also change their steps."

Being an obsessive music collector, Ramesh has had a strong career and following as a DJ. The last thirty years have seen him play in clubs around the world including Dagmarkt – Holland; Heavyweight - Montreal and Studio Lam – Bangkok. Locally he has played at Singapore’s most influential venues, from legendary after-hours club Lola to internationally acclaimed Zouk. He has held five DJ residencies including his present stint at the award-winning, premier rooftop nightclub, CÉ LA VI Singapore. He has continued his innovative style while performing at music festivals including Womad, Mosaic Music Festival with Montreux Jazz and Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Festival. In 2017 Ramesh was invited as a delegate at the Oslo World Festival in Norway. His inspiration from Oslo World led Ramesh to collaborate with seasoned industry players to develop Tropika. An inter-disciplinary festival centered on worldly rhythms, art and film. It aims to drive conversation and action on universal matters of social justice concerning inclusivity, sustainability and wellbeing.

Romi’s sound has developed into a strain of techno/ house that is consistently directed towards generating an atmospheric abyss. His sets are deep, yet pure – even filled with a certain degree of emptiness. It is this emptiness which invites the listener to get lost on an individual journey of possibilities. Growing up in New York, Stephen began his relationship with music playing ten years of jazz and classical trumpet, while enjoying a love for hip-hop on the side. After four years studying in Montreal discovering electronic and house music, Stephen made a move to Hong Kong. At home he started messing around with vinyl, and soon joined Cliché Records under the name Sweet Talk. Moving across many styles from house to ambient to disco to techno, Stephen brings his full energy every time to make the people boogie.

The Weatherman began noticing, and appreciating music late in his teens through local radio stations, the internet, friends and films, where interest in other musical genres mutated to obsessions. Music events from local night clubs, labels, collectives, and record shops sparked his fascination of how music allowed people to both disconnect, and connect; experiencing the possibilities of music to fit or challenge particular locations, and occasions. Often meandering through genres when dishing out DJ sets, predicting The Weatherman's forecast is often a futile venture, best to keep them ears and minds open.

Resident at 宀 Club, Hong Kong 4 am on a Saturday at a packed sweaty club in Sheung Wan, body to body dancing to a range of sounds from Boy Harsher to an unreleased remix of Madonna’s “Bedtime Story” to Islamic chants over a marching techno beat. Just one night before, in the very same district, police were firing rounds and rounds of tear gas to freedom-fighting protesters. That pretty much sums up what Youry does now: DJing from his heart; taking risks and making history despite chaos and negativity. Youry was born in the late eighties in Antwerp in the background of the nascent EBM / Big Beat scene in Belgium. His father was a musician and Jazz producer turned entrepreneur, while his Chinese Cambodian mother gave him an Asian sensitivity. But he really caught his dance music bug when he saw Akufen playing at Montreal’s Stereo in the early noughties. Since then Youry has become a vinyl addict, building up a meticulously categorised collection. His DJing career took off in 2015, setting foot at various clubs and festivals in Hong Kong such as Shi Fu Miz, Sonar, and Acadana. Since 2018 he has become a resident DJ at 宀 club, widely regarded as the first venue in Hong Kong to be on par with the best clubs in the global dance scene. It is here that he earned the freedom to build up all-night-long eclectic sets. As the local situation gets more volatile, a party where people can feel free becomes more relevant than ever. The stakes are high, but Youry is determined.
