Anh Vy is one of the youngest Djs in the Saigon underground scene and one of The Observatory’s newest residents. He's recognised by the versatility and flexibility in music. He was one of the resident DJs of former Upper Saigon. As time goes by, he is making himself into an interesting and promising piece of Saigon’s underground scene as an artist and a contributor with his very own uniqueness.

Bringing diversity to the decks as an avid dancer, organizer and DJ, Park Lee (Giang Bac) is a Vietnamese-mixed Korean who grew up in Ho Chi Minh City. Having spent some years away, Park was only inspired to start DJ-ing once he had relocated back to his home, where he found himself developing alongside the city’s burgeoning music scene.Park started off through playing at small house parties, and quickly grew into a regular in the local scene. This led him to begin organizing events with friends, most notably the GenderFunk party series in Saigon, a breakthrough collective and pioneer in creating safe spaces for local Queer artists and community, and their own brand of creativity, musical diversity and live performance since 2018.

Hibiya Line is not Japanese. Behind that name hides Dan, a Swiss-Vietnamese guy who in 2006 began playing live acts mixing beats, house and techno in his hometown of Lausanne, Switzerland with two friends. They quickly made a name for themselves were invited to play in some of the most prestigious clubs and festivals around the country such as the Montreux Jazz Festival, Paleo, and Motel Campoto name a few. His deep immersion in the Swiss party scene eventually brought him to Saigon in 2012, and in 2013, he opened The Observatory. Since then, Hibiya Line has become known as one of the most versatile and resilient DJs in the region, with more than enough capacity and drive to take full control of dance floors from the sundown to sunrise. Hibiya Line’s sound explores the house, disco and techno, but his dancefloor can always expect to experience some open-ended style tracks thrown in that make the audio journey more diverse and interesting...

Saigon brewed Khoi Mai, and after traveling near and far, he relocated to his home country in 2018. Quickly becoming one of the key players in Hanoi as part of the Savage crew, he recently moved back to Saigon, where he is now the newest resident of The Observatory. Khoi presents a fun and light-hearted attitude to dance music with eclectic selections and a dreamy, percussive sound. Moving smoothly between genres, Khoi puts his personality and influences to use on any dance floor he’s put in control of, with constant grooves, surprises and delights.

A long-time record collector and connoisseur of jazz funk, disco, afro, reggae and other hidden rarities, Datodeo moved his vinyl to Vietnam from his native France and has since spent most of his spare time spinning around Saigon and the region. He also runs the Vietnam Loves Vinyl online community and worked on the Saigon SuperSound Compilation with Jan Hagenkoetter. Datodeo’s sets are rich explorations of hidden corners of the dance universe, from rare deep house cuts and lost disco and Afro gems to jazz funk movements and contemporary electronic twists. Party music at its purest and most complete, the sound he presents demands to be soaked in and danced to.

One of The Observatory residents, Kin’s approach to his sets is intelligent, sensual and constantly evolving. Through his carefully chosen selections, he crafts a sonic flow that careens through the gaps between the physical and emotional. He slowly disarms and relaxes his dance floor while heightening its awareness with tracks from the more shadowy sides of house and delicate frequencies of techno. His dance floor can also be frequently surprised by licks of disco and other unexpected delicacies.

Steffen is born and raised in east berlin, his first touches with the materia was thru his uncle , who worked in a club called "WM 66" at the end of the 90´s. He also started to produce and playing records in clubs back then, when Techno became the new revolution of berlin. Steffen is introverted and the Half of The Sexinvaders, but he’s also deeply focused on his very new project called after his real name : Steffen Sonnenschein. His tracks stand out, due to its saturated base complimented with matured deep beats. This transcendence between techno and deep house creates an individuating innovating style.

After having plunged into the depths of Saigon underground scene, Vynnibal moved behind the decks to bring her unique goofy, banging yet delicate sound to the aerial life. Despite her tender soul, Vynnibal is not afraid to explore unchartered territories, drive the crowd to unexpected places, mix feelings as she blends liquid emotions into multi-versed musical sets. With Vynnibal, expect the odd and the sparkly, the quirky and the severe, the kisses and the kicks. She is also behind “The Crisis” parties and regularly brings new acts and people together, contributing with passion to turning Saigon into a regional techno powerhouse.

Di Linh is a young artist from Vietnam. Since she began the musical path, she has been making her mark by the diverse and colorful music selection. She is a part of Hanoi Underground Movement (HUM) and resident DJ at Savage. Till this day, Di Linh often plays in familiar places like Savage, Kobala, Smack Dab,... through local events HUM, Snug, SBD, This is, Guinguette, Unuzual and Quest, Duality, Recess, Studio Adventure, Epizode Festival. Besides, her name also appears the same night with well-known artists such as Lauer, Red Rack’em, Local Suicide, Haruka, Omer, Curses and many more around the world in Epizode. And the highlight of her music career was her performance in HUM Showcase (Epizode) with Marco Yanes, which also mentioned in the official review from Data Transmission. Each space gives her different inspirations, Di Linh is always looking and developing herself to give the audiences a fresh feeling, while still retaining her own unique color. She knows how to lead the audiences' emotions...

A producer and DJ deep house and techno operating in Asia. Growing up in the heart of a techno scene in Leeds in the mid-90s, Dan moved to London just to be immersed in the bass of Heart & Soul parties, followed by relationships. The system through legendary Eukotech disc performance. Before long, Dan appeared in London's finest underground parties. More recently, after moving the capital to Brighton and the famous free party setting with Positive Soundsystem and Innerfield. At that time, Dan had a regular seat at the Backstage Bar of the Glade Festival. After years of refining sound and craftsmanship, the first 1DAN publication was published through the highly respected label deep house underground Atmospheric Existence in England. After cutting his teeth on the Leeds techno scene back in 1995, Dan moved to London and was enveloped by the deep sounds of the Heart & Soul parties. Now based in Vietnam, 1DAN takes his inspiration from both scenes as well as other sources; Detroit, Paris, UK.

Attiss Ngo is a producer and synthesizer shredder, traveling across continents and genres to push people’s perceptions of electronica. Presenting entirely original pieces, his live sets span orchestral manipulations to crushing drum machines to intimate whispers to sacred chants. His purpose is to leave bodies aching, minds bewildered & spirits delighted.

Barry Sunset is a founding member of cult Melbourne party, Spin Club, held monthly at the infamous Mercat Basement in Melbourne, Australia. Since it’s demolition he has gone on to create the eclectic About Love podcast, and his own Australiana fishing themed side-stage and bar at Hopkins Creek Festival - Barry’s Bait Shop. Deejaying since a young age has seen him hone his selections from countless hours behind the booth and is now a local hero treasured by the party-people of Melbourne. Now based in Hanoi, Vietnam he is producing some sneaky dancefloor edits, running his own Sunset Sounds imprint and has his sights on the dance floors of south-east Asia and beyond.

Born in 1989 in Ho Chi Minh City - Vietnam, Bach was taught to play the piano when he was eight years old. Later on he took academic piano lessons at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, graduated the Intermediate Long-term program in 2009 and achieved the Piano Bachelor's degree in 2014. Bach has been playing the piano for more than 10 years now and this impressive sound has had a big influence on his music career ever since he started playing. He then discovered his passion of composing music and started his own project ‘B.A.X.’ at the age of 18. He has spent a lot of time to do research about electronic music and composed his first New Age / Ambient works.

Creating art in a ‘binary-gen’ world, the artist’s multi-facet mind is at a state to observe and challenge its reasonably sane path. Often finding his sound buried with poetic yet provocative rhythms, Phu attempts to sculpt many of his conceptual sides through music.

As one of the emerging DJs from the new Serbian scene, having moved to Hanoi, Dusan has been flirting with many genres trying to find the right balance between minimal and acid house, deep and dub techno all the way to electro and breakbeat. Leaning on the authenticity of the organic sound, he builds his sets always feeling the crowd and the space. He currently hosts a show on DSTRACKTD platform named Flux.

Born in the early 90s in Belgrade - the city with a strong rave culture. He considers music as a very important and integral part of his life. Janko spent a great amount of time collecting old and new records - a collection of smooth and delicate electronic gems with no restriction for style, mood or era. He nurtures a sound that is both distinctive and abstract. His musical palette encompasses a wide range of genres, moving seamlessly through - house, breaks, electro or techno . His playful experimentation resonates with the positive expression of groovy and light elements. Board the musical spaceship and let it take you into the universe of sounds. Originally hailing from Wales in the UK, I'm currently residing in Saigon after spending 4 years in the northern capital of Hanoi. I usually explore a diverse melange of house, deep, disco and electro. Expect dreamy Balearic tracks, tribal afro sounds mixed in with some more dancefloor focused house music. I have a passion for travelling and aim to incorporate some global sounds into many of my sets.

Addicted to vinyl, Micmac is an activist of the French underground electro scene since the mid 90's as a co-founder of FDB recordings, electro bass label and a resident of the paradise massage parties @ Rex Club with famous Headliners from Detroit like Dj Assault, AUX 88, Detroit Grand Pubahs.

Nayla, founder of On Point Worldwide Records, is a producer and DJ born and raised in the UK, releasing a selection of instrumental Hip Hop, House and Disco Edits. As a DJ, his genre fluid track selection represents a spicy fusion of Garage, House, Disco, Techno, Hip-Hop, Italo and Bass, with a healthy injection of Global Sounds. Currently residing in South East Asia with a recent base in Ho Chi Minh City he is a regular face at clubs and events such as The Observatory, Kobala, Savage, The Lighthouse, and Studio Adventure. Indeed, his tracks are sure to satisfy an array of tastes and dispositions. Rifain’s sound is powered by an experimentalism that twists and turns through varied genres with a consistency that cloaks it in its own unique nature. His approach is one of absorption and redefinition, elegantly mixing seemingly divergent elements to guide a dancefloor into deep, downbeat darkness or an opaque dreamscape before rousing it into primal collective movement through fresh tribal energy. All being told, his sound is hard for even him to describe, as it’s in constant flux and evolution, intuitively reflecting setting and situation and the influences that happen to be inspiring him. As its main booker and cofounder, Rifain is a key figure of Savage nightclub in Hanoi, which over the last few years has turned into a key node of Asia’s underground club circuit. He also runs his own monthly night at the club - Slow Beats Disco - which despite its name is less focused on a specific genre or bpm, but more on a collective intimacy and adventurous sonic exploration with delicacy at its core...

Sunshine Primo is an American visual artist, producer, and sound composer living in HCMC. His work ranges from theatrical scores to short films, from noise/garage rock to atmospheric sounds.

Originally Teruu played as a drummer in a Tokyo based Hardcore Punk band for 10 years. He was taken over by the charm of dance music in 20xx and started DJing since 2015. His energetic, disco sets are fuelled by techno, house, afro and other obscurities. He was a resident at the infamous Savage in Hanoi before he moved to Saigon, where he was a booking manager of DJ bar WAM. Recently, we focus on and promote DJs and producers from Vietnam and other neighbouring Asian countries as the founder of Mogra Radio.

Born and raised in Hanoi in 90’s, his musical education began from a really young age, and he has always enjoyed the rhythm of it. He put himself seriously into digging and playing when he met ToK at Kobala, where they work together and share the decks every weekend. That’s where he got his nickname, "the Kobala Kid", as he represents the place, not only musically but through his personality too. Since then, he has been organising his own nights inviting the rising talents of the city, and playing in some of the best clubs and parties in town.
