Adam Beyer is a Swedish techno producer and DJ. He is the founder of Drumcode Records, and is one of several Swedish techno artists to emerge in the mid-1990s, along with Cari Lekebusch and Jesper Dahlbäck. Adam Beyer’s music is synonymous with all that is exciting about techno. Having emerged as the figurehead of the hugely prolific Swedish techno scene, Beyer’s focused and considered approach to his craft has worked to confirm his position as a globally recognized DJ and producer headlining cutting edge clubs and festivals week-in-week-out. Adam is also one of the most acclaimed production talents on the scene and has consistently delivered cutting edge music across his 3 labels – Drumcode, Truesoul and Madeye. Amelie Lens has risen rapidly through the European techno ranks over the past couple of years. The Belgian’s Lenske label has simultaneously gone from strength to strength, building its name around the five-person crew of AIROD, Farrago, Milo Spkyers, Ahl Iver and Lens herself. A couple of years after winning the Beatport Breakthrough Award in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll, ANNA enters the list at No.95. Known to her parents as Ana Miranda, she went from playing to a 1,500-strong crowd at the age of 14 in her home country of Brazil to fronting DJ Mag North America in 2019. New music from ANNA has been huge in festival sets for many world-leading techno DJs all summer. Then there was the richly deserved Essential Mix for the BBC that started 2019 off right, as the Brazilian distilled 20 years of DJing experience into an inspiring two-hour techno masterclass. Berlin born DJ, producer and label owner Ben Klock is without a doubt one of the most significant characters in techno’s recent history. A resident at Berghain since its opening in 2004, he has been able to leave his mark on the club’s unique sound, in turn the special space influenced Klock’s approach as a DJ and producer as well. Playing techno sets full of hypnotic, deep and heavy grooves, releasing records on Ostgut Ton and last but not least the aesthetics of his own label Klockworks (founded in 2006), have earned him an excellent international reputation over the last few years. Spain-based producer Eric Estornel initially reserved the name Maceo Plex for his festival-friendly house productions before gradually taking the project into a darker, more introspective direction. After establishing himself in the techno world for his work as Maetrik beginning in the early 2000s, and exploring more abstract electro and IDM as Mariel Ito around the middle of the decade, he began releasing some of his most accessible tracks under the Maceo Plex handle starting in 2009. Generally billed just by her first name, Rebekah Teasdale is a DJ and producer from Birmingham, England who has been active since the mid-'90s. Like most figures of the Birmingham techno scene, her tracks are often hard, dark, and minimalist, with heavy pounding beats and gradual suspenseful development. An avid clubgoer since her youth, she began spinning records in 1996, at the age of 16. She spent several years as a model in order to provide financial support for her DJ career. She released an edit of the Mighty Dub Katz's house anthem "It's Just Another Groove" in 2004, but her first original productions, starting with 2007's "Toad in a Hole," were minimal tech-house. By the early 2010s, her sound had gotten darker and heavier, and she eventually caught the attention of Chris Liebing, who released Rebekah's Cycles EP on his CLR label in 2013. ~ AllMusic

Richie Hawtin played an essential role in developing the sound of minimal techno, as well as spreading its popularity throughout the global club scene. Stephan Bodzin has been a hugely influential figure within the global techno scene for years. After starting out by composing music for several prestigious European theatres, Stephan Bodzin soon fell in love with nocturnal club sounds and began producing his own brand of techno. After getting to know each other in Zürich in 2008, Adrian Shala and Adrian Schweizer became inseparable, not just as friends, but also as artists. The two men carved out a career as one of the most consistently delivering DJ/producer duos in the house and techno scene: Adriatique. The key to an enduring partnership is, of course, to complement each other, and the two Adrians do so admirably. Music-wise, their various tastes combine into one unique sound, and their respective preference for studio work and performance means that both aspects are equally well covered. Adriatique’s DJ performances as well as their productions are long, meditative, relentlessly building affairs, ever challenging the listener with subtle twists interrupting their hypnotic groove. If you had to melt down the appeal of Anastasia Kristensen to just two words, it could well be ‘energy flash’. There are a few reasons it’s a snug fit: for a start, the immediate associations are smoke and strobes, lasers and lights, big-league rave bliss and barely-marshalled sonic chaos; that is to say, maximum fun from a dancefloor perspective, something Kristensen keenly channels as a DJ. The character she exudes as a person, and not just a playlist-for-hire, mirrors it too: a whirlwind in the booth, it’s rare not to see her wide grin glinting through a motion blur of fader tricks, sashaying and vigorous air drumming. There’s also the perfection of imperfection in a flash of energy, a sense of freedom in the face of stultifying codes and norms. Kristensen embodies this, giving the best show of herself in any given point of time without being performative or buttoned-up. One of dance music’s brightest stars, 27-year old Berlin based producer and live act Ben Böhmer has had another monumental year. A few EPs later, Boris moved from Autist Records to Harthouse. With tracks like “Die Maschinen Sind Gestrandet” and “Lost Memory”, he combined his unique sound with a maximum of varieties. Consequently, he became the “exceptional Talent 2007” in the electronic music magazine Raveline. Boris also created his second alias called “ANNA” in 2007 and had some groundbreaking releases on Autist Records. After four years of touring, three albums and lots of singles, Boris became a constant favorite in today's club scene. 27-year-old Ida Engberg started DJing hip hop and soul aged 14 after a boyfriend showed her how to mix, but she says “I had absolutely no plans on becoming a DJ, I just saw it as a new way to listen to and interact with music and I loved it!” But fate had other plans – while at a friend’s bar aged 18 his regular DJ called in sick. Ida talked her way onto the decks on the proviso that if it wasn’t working after half an hour she’d get off again – by the time she’d finished playing she’d secured her first weekly residence. “I was probably a terrible DJ” she says modestly, “but he loved the music so he booked me every Friday. At this time I was playing lounge music, ambient and soulful house.”,Ida honed her mixing skills and bagged her second residency through more fortuitous timing – working as a host at a big nightclub, Spy Bar, she stepped in for the errant resident DJ who’d had a skinful and promptly disappeared, leaving the dancefloor in silence. The owner immediately changed her job description to DJ, and put her in the main room, kicking off her DJ career proper. “I guess it was there it really started” says Ida. “I was playing house, tribal and electro and I really loved every second of it! I kept my residency there for two and a half years until I decided I wanted to spread my wings a bit.”,A move to Marbella brought 8 months of club gigs, followed by a season in Ibiza which inspired Ida musically like no other place. “I had fallen deeply in love with the minimal techno sound so it was perfect at the time. Born Yassine Ben Achour in Tunisia, he began his career in the early '90s as a rap MC/DJ named Dice'C. In time he switched from rap to house music and changed his name to Loco Dice in the process. Recondite is the alias of German musician Lorenz Brunner. As one of the most heavily supported and best-sold techno producers of the moment, notorious for his powerful live performances at renowned festivals and clubs, Reinier Zonneveld is currently taking over the contemporary scene with his unique view on techno. In spite of his young age, Zonneveld already managed to score several charting hits, including Beatport overall no.1 “Things We Might Have Said”, which was included on his well-received artist album “Megacity Servant” and later on landed in a Hollywood production.

As far back as the early '90s, Ricardo Villalobos began building an impressive discography of 12" releases on respected dance labels like Playhouse and Perlon, and around the turn of the decade he was one of the most revered producers and DJs in dance music. In his youth, the Chilean-born Villalobos moved with his family to Germany in order to avoid the military dictatorship of Pinochet, and he eventually fell in with the country's fertile house community. A minimalist at heart, he trotted the globe to study percussion in order to apply his knowledge to his productions, which almost always sound remarkably expansive despite their simplicity. In addition to his own solo material, he has recorded with fellow expatriate Dandy Jack as Ric y Martin and with Luciano as Sense Club; additionally, he has taken part in Markus Nikolai's Hombre Ojo project. ~ AllMusic

After studying classical music in her youth, Sonja Moonear set aside the piano in favour of the turntables and bought a Roland R8. Surrounded by the Swiss mountains, Sonja immersed herself in the Geneva underground before finally infiltrating the ranks of the Weetamix residents in 2002. From that point on, participating in ever more ambitious projects, she was tapped by an international agency and started the road trip. Moonear slowly began collaborating with artists and friends like Luciano or Cosmic Chile Zürich, along with Dandy Jack as Junction SM. She has acquired an impressive international reputation, playing in clubs and festivals worldwide. In the last couple of years she has been releasing her own tracks and remixes on renowned international labels such as Karat and Perlon. She runs the label Ruta5 and organises various events in Switzerland as well as the growing Kiss Me festival.

Unrestrained by genre or tempo limitations he shifts gears between hypnotic slowmotion and breakneck 90’s rave so nimbly it induces an unexplained cerebral high. His sound has a rawness to it, shaped by years spent in the gabber scene and as a junglist in and around his terrestrial hometown Delft. On his shamanic quest as gatekeeper into the world hidden within your mind he established the record label ’Mirror Zone’ in late 2017 where reflections of his musical introspections come to fruition...
