Adam Beyer is a Swedish techno producer and DJ. A couple of years after winning the Beatport Breakthrough Award in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll, ANNA enters the list at No.95. Known to her parents as Ana Miranda, she went from playing to a 1,500-strong crowd at the age of 14 in her home country of Brazil to fronting DJ Mag North America in 2019. New music from ANNA has been huge in festival sets for many world-leading techno DJs all summer. Then there was the richly deserved Essential Mix for the BBC that started 2019 off right, as the Brazilian distilled 20 years of DJing experience into an inspiring two-hour techno masterclass. DJ Mag rightly recognised her talents, putting her on the cover of their North American edition in February, a nod to the breakaway impact she’s had on that region.

One of dance music’s brightest stars, 27-year old Berlin based producer and live act Ben Böhmer has had another monumental year. His debut album ‘Breathing’, released on Anjunadeep at the end of 2019, has since attained over 25 million streams, drawing admirers from across the Electronic music spectrum; including Boris Brejcha, who remixed the title track and pronounced Ben as his ‘Breakthrough Artist of 2020’. Capriati began DJing as a preteen, eventually attending raves and developing a passion for techno that would guide his career. Collaborative EPs with Rino Cerrone, Markantonio, and Uto Karem followed, and by 2009 he began releasing material on Adam Beyer's Drumcode label, as well as Chris Liebing's CLR. Italian native Joseph Capriati is praised for his marathon DJ sets, as well as his sharply produced techno and house tracks. Since launching his career in 2007, he has performed at countless festivals and clubs throughout the world, and released dozens of records for labels like Drumcode and CLR. DJ and producer Marcel Dettmann is recognised as one of the most influential proponents of contemporary techno. Widely associated with iconic trademarks including Berlin, Berghain and Hard Wax, Dettmann stays true to his roots by consistently innovating his interpretation of electronic music, integrating art with the scene. Raised in the former GDR, in a small town near Berlin, Dettmann had already begun to develop his passion for electronic music in his youth. Bands like Depeche Mode, The Cure and Front 242, as well as post-punk and industrial, count as his earliest influences, long before he discovered his affinity for techno. His hometown lacked a record store specialising in electronic music, so between 1995 and 1998 Dettmann began selling vinyl from his own home. He purchased records from various distributers, Hard Wax amongst others, both to resell to his friends and to cement the foundation for his own considerable collection. Like many of his friends, the mid-nineties saw Dettmann frequenting Berlin’s nightlife. This included club institutions E-Werk and Tresor where the resident DJs of that time aroused his passion for the Chicago and Detroit influenced sound. In 1999, after many (including self-organised) parties, his turning point came; Dettmann began to work as a resident DJ at Ostgut, Berghain’s predecessor. Shortly thereafter upon receiving a job offer from Hard Wax, he finally moved to Berlin. His apprenticeship as a vinyl buyer and seller as well as DJ, granted him an extensive depth of musical knowledge and intuition. Dettmann quests tirelessly for new ways and inspiration to further develop his own concept of electronic music. His label MDR (Marcel Dettmann Records) serves as a platform upon which to shape his musical vision, and through its releases, to launch new talent onto the techno scene. As a curator and producer, Dettmann fosters the call to create in a way which is equally timeless and innovative. His own releases comprise two albums on Ostgut Ton, numerous singles and remixes for artists of various genres – Junior Boys, Fever Ray, Moderat, Commix, Clark and Laibach to name a few. Furthermore, he has produced compilation albums for London’s fabric club, Berlin’s Berghain, the Belgian techno label Music Man and one issue of the DJ Kicks compilation series on !K7 imprint. Outside of the club context, Marcel Dettmann has established himself as a multi-faceted artist. He designed the sound concept for „New Works“, an exhibition of photographer Frederike von Rauch, contributed to the contemporary dance project „Masse“ – together with Frank Wiedemann and choreographer Nadja Saidakowa in cooperation with Berghain and the Berlin State Ballet. His single “Seduction feat. Emika” provided the soundtrack to director and screenwriter Parker Ellerman’s short film of the same name. As a passionate DJ and one of the faces of Berghain, Dettmann seeks to inspire his listeners with sounds both reduced and rough, balanced by emotional and surprising moments throughout his sets. Between pure techno, banging Chicago, tracks old and new of the past twenty-five years, Marcel Dettmann communicates his message with an apparent effortlessness.

Nina Kraviz is one of techno’s most iconic DJs. Famous for both her dynamic and varied DJ sets, captivating performances and her acclaimed label трип (Trip), she’s been a techno powerhouse since she launched on the scene in 2009. In 2020, she played a series of live stream events and virtual festivals including an empty Dance Arena at EXIT and even on top of Mount Olympus in Greece. She also collaborated with streaming giants Spotify when she was chosen to be part of their trackID series, providing a regularly updated playlist to the platform that includes tracks from her own label as well as a diverse collection of releases from across multiple genres. That genre-hopping is also evident in her sets, where trance, techno, ambient and hardstyle can all be heard in one swoop, with her inimitable presence in the booth adding to the allure of Kraviz’s sets. Stephan Bodzin has been a hugely influential figure within the global techno scene for years. The reason the German has endured where many had fallen by the wayside is because of his devotion to authenticity. “Without it, everything would appear to be nothing more than a hollow shell,” says the son of an experimental musician who is now a revered talent in his own right. After starting out by composing music for several prestigious European theatres, Stephan Bodzin soon fell in love with nocturnal club sounds and began producing his own brand of techno. He impressed right from the off and has gone on to work with Oliver Huntemann under myriad aliases including Rekorder or with Marc Romboy including on albums like “Luna” and more recently “Kerberos & Styx” in 2014. Two friends meet outside Karlsruhe, in Schwarzwald. One is an explorer of galaxies far away, the other a composer of fragments. Together they create a joie de vivre, arranging and deconstructing their creations, their own formations. Beneath their feet, a stone world rests against the living world, touching rivers, mountains, forest floors and the first foot trails between Schwarzwald, Vosges Mountains and Naturpark Pfälzerwald. This stone world is made of smooth subterranean rock that swirls and folds. Altered from its original igneous by pressures a hundred thousand years strong. What was once sharp is now smooth. Lines become curves, reversals. If you were to try read its origin, its strata, you would not tell which direction the past flowed or the future began.

Glasgow-based DJ/producer Hector Barbour (aka Denis Sulta) creates vivacious, melodic house with underground sensibilities. Born in Glasgow in 1993, he grew up with a keen interest in dance music, landing his first job at the infamous record shop Rubadub. It was during his tenure there that he took up both music production and DJ'ing under the guidance of his co-workers, who were all very passionate about the scene. His early tracks were darker in tone, but as he started playing more and more gigs, his music became more uplifting. To reflect the change in style, he reversed the name Atlus to Sulta and adopted Denis as a prefix (originally spelled "Dennis," a printing error led him to drop an "n" in favor of Denis). From there he went on to release EPs, eventually setting up his own label and brand, Sulta Selects. Generally billed just by her first name, Rebekah Teasdale is a DJ and producer from Birmingham, England who has been active since the mid-'90s. Like most figures of the Birmingham techno scene, her tracks are often hard, dark, and minimalist, with heavy pounding beats and gradual suspenseful development. An avid clubgoer since her youth, she began spinning records in 1996, at the age of 16. She spent several years as a model in order to provide financial support for her DJ career. She released an edit of the Mighty Dub Katz's house anthem "It's Just Another Groove" in 2004, but her first original productions, starting with 2007's "Toad in a Hole," were minimal tech-house. Over the course of five albums for the legendary label Ninja Tune, a myriad of tours, singles, remixes and production work for other artists, Bonobo has built a large, loyal and engaged global fanbase: over half a million album sales and over one hundred and fifty million streams on Spotify point to the levels of success achieved by this quiet, self-effacing man. Most recently, Bonobo curated an international series of Outlier events including a sold out all day festival at Tobacco Dock in London and further parties in Berlin, Madrid, Paris and New York. After the epic North Borders tour, Bonobo relocated once again, continuing his gradual move westward by laying down roots in Los Angeles. He had spent almost three years out on the road with no fixed home and on returning to New York, he found it a “noisy, stressful environment” and decided to try the other coast. All this – both the monumental live and DJ tours and his new home in a city full of people from somewhere else – has fed into what makes “Migration” such a special record. Drawing on both a new interest in found-sound and the “euphoric, spiritual moments” he experienced when playing his all-night DJ sets at his Output residency (where many of “Migrations” tracks were road tested) in New York and his Outlier events around the world, Green has placed the unstable, the heartbreaking, the often beautiful migratory life at the core of how he understands humanity, and hence how he understands music. Migration is to him, “The study of people and spaces,” he expands, “It’s interesting how one person will take an influence from one part of the world and move with that influence and effect another part of the world. Over time, the identities of places evolve.” It’s also true that the person will be changed. Green’s newest work is itself a statement of this change and growth.

The Slovenian selector Brina Knauss has achieved widespread notoriety and respect for her DJ skills, with influential figures such as Damian Lazarus and Luciano among her growing fanbase. Classically trained as a youngster, Brina has an exceptionally refined ear for key, chords and melodies, meaning her sets are full of emotional depth and transcendent atmospherics. Still in the early stages of her DJ career, Brina Knauss is an accomplished music selector, whose scintillating sets have catapulted her into the limelight.

Mike Di Scala and Dave Whelan are CamelPhat, a British electronic duo traversing various styles of deep house and techno. Formed in 2008, the pair put out a number of digital EPs and singles via Vice and Nervous Records before signing to Dutch EDM label Spinnin' Records in 2014. Enjoying chart success in Belgium with tracks such as "Constellations," "Paradigm," "Make 'Em Dance," and "The Act," they came to widespread prominence in 2017 with the Grammy-nominated "Cola," a collaborative track produced with fellow electronic musician Elderbrook. Being asked to describe his own music, Christian Löffler states that he tries to combine melancholy with euphoria. „All my music is connected by a gloomy spirit, which is minted by a warm sincerity. I try to merge all kinds of different acoustic colors to obtain this feeling in my music.” Löffler started to play music by the age of 14. Living in a secluded region, lacking a musical surrounding, he had to teach himself the essentials of making electronic music. Before long he developed his own deep and moving sound, colored with a melancholic undertone- Music for the soul & for the body. He recalls a variety of music styles he listened to as a child and teenager that were highly influential to his own development as a musician. Due to the fact that Löffler is also working as a visual artist, he’s following the same approach when making music that he’s following when painting or taking photos. It is more about telling a story than making everything accessible right from the start. In the course of the production of EP’s like „Heights”, „Raise” and „Aspen”, Löffler developed some strategies to use acoustic material in his music. Amongst others he samples different stringed instruments, percussion and atmospheres. He continues working with the recordings on the computer, combining, layering and alternating them. For his debut album „A Forest“ he enriched his sound collages by co-working with singers like Gry and Mohna. An Album in the spirit of the enchanting woods of his home region. The extraordinary capacities of this young producer have kept eyes and ears closely following the fresh talent as Löffler’s deep moving melancholic sound, is absolutely irresistible. This mixes well with her ethos: using her influence to create space for marginalized groups to express & organize themselves. “Deep”, perhaps the word most associated with the career of Fred P, and for once, an accurate portrayal. Eleven albums, innumerable releases and decades of Djing into his career, the New York-turned-Berlin resident continues to push further into his own sound, craft, and mind.

New York-born DJ and Lot Radio resident Gabrielle Kwarteng is on a steady, slow-burning rise upward. Her guest shows won her a Mixcloud Online Radio Award and a regular slot, which garnered her a loyal following and led to bookings across NY and beyond. Gabrielle Kwarteng’s journey so far is one of passion, dedication and the occasional strike of fate. Born and raised in New York, Kwarteng’s name has recently risen in prominence throughout a challenging time for dance music and club culture. A DJ, radio host and curator, her sets have recently enchanted Panorama Bar in Berlin (four times in less than twelve months, no less), equally vital club spaces such as NYC’s Nowadays and Manchester’s own White Hotel, as well as a span of festivals including Love International, Glastonbury, Melt and Dekmantel Selectors. Listening to Kwarteng, whether in a cavernous rave hall, a sweat-soaked underground club or making intimate selections on the radio, is an experience that feels at once familiar but always energizing. Kwarteng’s diverse taste and open-mindedness lead first, allowing her to fluidly slip through a mix of heady 80s and 90s NY house, disco interpretations that traverse diaspora and eras, percussive passages alongside boldly broken beats and, as the lights get lower, an undeniable acid undercurrent. In an era of everything at once, Kwarteng weaves stories for the dancefloor that often look to the past, but always focus on possible futures. Kwarteng arrived at this position via a mixture of study and circumstance. Born in Brooklyn to Ghanaian parents but raised in the Bronx, her childhood was soundtracked by a mix of first-wave Highlife, Afrobeat and disco. Outside her front door, in a thriving neighborhood of diverse American experiences, entire sounds and scenes expanded and exploded as pop-culture began to mutate in new ways, both online and off. Crossing to Manhattan for school, the tempo changed entirely as rock, hip hop and experimental music filled Kwarteng’s ears while she studied intensely. Her academic focus was paramount, but Kwarteng couldn’t help but drift back towards the beat. First, from sciences to arts, where, at an esteemed upstate New York university, her dedication to trawling music blogs rendered Kwarteng the de facto DJ for house parties. She also began broadcasting on college radio; her daybreak show was a particular hit with professors arriving to work early to mark before lectures. Bouncing back to New York, Kwarteng continued to present a show on the burgeoning online radio station The Lot. In 2017, she was presented with the Mixcloud Online Radio Award for Best Eclectic Show, an early and completely unexpected acknowledgement of an instinct for music that traversed genre expectations. In parallel, Kwarteng played each and every Saturday night in the majestic ballroom of the SoHo Grand, amassing vinyl for a residency that helped define the uptown musical scene with her own downtown sensibilities. Now based in Europe, Kwarteng continues to criss-cross not only genres, but continents. Overcoming her inherent introversion to nervously approach Giles Peterson at a record store in Paris proved fortuitous; so impressed was the storied DJ by Kwarteng’s show on local station Le Mellotron, he invited her to appear at his own festival, Worldwide. Appearances at suitably open-minded spaces in Madrid, London, Bristol, Copenhagen and Kyiv soon followed. Wherever she performs, Kwarteng’s expertise serves to not only continue the championing of Black American genres such as house, techno and disco, but equally, to explore the continuum of global dance music as a whole. Having laid the foundations for a unique musical journey, it’s a level of respect that’s tangible on any dancefloor. In these increasingly sacred spaces, Gabrielle Kwarteng’s personal passion translates into collective ecstasy. The dig continues.

Gerd Janson runs the Running Back label, and DJs around the world under the name Gerd Janson. Gerd Janson is running the German label Running Back together with Thorsten Scheu (aka Glance). As many kids who have grown up in the early 90s in the South West of Germany, Gerd Janson was a regular guest at Mannheim’s legendary Milk Club. Although this venue was most popular for putting jungle on the map in Germany, Gerd always used to wait eagerly for the early morning hours when the pace slowed down and US styled house was the ruling sound. In the following years, his deep love for house and disco music was fed in Frankfurt’s Wild Pitch Club by Heiko MSO and Ata. In 1998, Gerd Janson finally had his first DJ residency at Darmstadt’s Café Kesselhaus.

Grace Dahl is a Techno DJ and producer from Amsterdam with a mixed heritage of Finnish and Hungarian descent. The Vault Sessions resident plays a refined selection of styles, with a focus on hypnotic yet powerful Techno that showcases dominant percussion and draws inspiration from both old school and hard groove influences. Her deep-rooted love and passion for music can be traced back to her parents, who organised electronic music events in Budapest during the 90s. Influenced by her parents' musically driven upbringing, she ambitiously embarked on her career when she was a mere 18 years young. Fast forward to present day, Grace is currently at the forefront of the thriving scene in The Netherlands and is swiftly accelerating within international circuit. She has been showcasing her craft at various renowned events around Europe with a jam packed 2023 schedule, playing at the likes of Awakenings, Vault Sessions, FUSE, Sziget Festival, RSO, Rotterdam Rave, Soenda Festival, Intercell and By the Creek, among others. It didn’t take her long to take the next step within her career as she head towards her journey into production four years ago, which rapidly led to her track “Vermilion Empire” being released on Amelie Lens’ label, EXHALE in 2020 and her latest tracks being released on Voxnox, Deestricted, IMF and ANTIDOTE. With many more impressive shows and productions on the horizon, combined with her undeniable drive and focus, Grace is well on her way to making her vision become reality.

Venezuelan born Berlin based Hyperaktivist it's been shaking the scene in and outside Berlin with her characteristic energetic sets, oscillating between faster Techno and House with big influence in the 90's and old school tracks. She started working for the development of club culture in her native Venezuela since an early age. There, she co-founded SOLO, the first club dedicated exclusively to electronic music in her hometown. Now she continues that labor in Berlin with not one but two vital community-focused club nights. Her first called Mess, Mindful Electronic Sonic Selections, a forward thinking club night happening at OHM which have a focus on femme and queer artist from diverse cultural backgrounds, and it's dedicated to the celebration of diversity and supporting DIY club culture around the world. Her newest Mala Junta, which she co-founded along with Dj Tool and that counts with D.dan, Yazzus and Why Be as residents, is considered one of Berlin’s fiercest underground queer-techno parties, with a focus on inclusivity, Mala Junta approaches the faster, groovier edges of dance music with an open mind and a relentless spirit. Hyperaktivist have directly influenced a shift in the scene in Berlin, not only through introducing her Tribal euphoric fresh sounds, with great influence in her roots from Latin America and the Caribbean coast where she grew up, but also by constantly nurturing and pushing up her community and advocating political values of equality & diversity at the forefront of her projects. Since being selected as one of the Shape Platform for innovative music artists in 2016, she has been touring around the world. The Detroit electronic music group Inner City, one of the most influential dance acts of all time, commemorating 30 Years! The story of Inner City is intractably linked with its founder Kevin Saunderson, widely created as one of the progenitors of techno and a landmark figure in dance music. But while it intertwines with his own career, the group’s longevity – spanning wildfire success, indelible club classics, a handful of full-length albums, and sales of over six million worldwide – is a result of multiple independent chapters over a remarkable 30 year run time. In 2017, with Kevin’s son and creative protégé Danitez as a new addition to the group, a new one is unfolding. The beginning of Inner City as a project came in 1987, one of many creative outlets that could be traced back to Saunderson. The music he was playing and producing in Detroit at the time, alongside fellow The Belleville Three members Juan Atkins and Derrick May, laid the path for what came to be known as Techno, and birthed an entire global culture to follow. Inspired by marathon sets by pioneering DJs Ron Hardy and Larry Levan, Saunderson set out to break from the strictures of Detroit techno’s tracky, dark machine funk by adding vocals to his productions. Work with contemporaries at the time had led to a unique sound based on colourful keyboard chords and snappy drums – and, crucially, a chance collaboration with Chicago vocalist Paris Grey (née Shanna Jackson). With Paris Grey’s soaring vocals atop the catchy tracks, a winning combination was found for Inner City. The marriage of Detroit techno’s propulsive, insistent rhythms and pop’s vibrant, melodic uplift proved a winner; it was neither too positive for the underground, nor too gritty for commercial success. With a defining sound in place, Inner City songs began to spring up on influential compilations chronicling early Detroit techno music and the material was heavily bootlegged, before seeing official release in 1988. What followed was a whirlwind: “Big Fun” and “Good Life” dominated not only clubs but the charts, sweeping top 10s all across Europe, and starting a run of four consecutive No1s on the US Billboard Dance Chart. Their enduring popularity in club and radio rotation continues to this day, standing out as top-tier classics in the pantheon of modern music. The act arrived just at the right time, with the door wide open for dancefloor-ready anthems – especially in the UK, where a new culture based around free-spirited dance music and warehouse parties was developing rapidly. Paradise, their debut album, went Platinum in the UK, setting in motion years of high demand on the live touring circuit, and spawning further hit singles such as “Ain’t Nobody Better,” “Do You Love What You Feel”, and 1992’s “Pennies From Heaven” – featuring Kevin’s wife at the time and musical partner throughout, Ann Saunderson. Standalone releases split between Saunderson’s own KMS and Virgin’s 10 Records imprint continued through the 90s, and a greatest hits collection followed in 2003, but through the 2000s the Inner City project largely lay dormant. Paused out of respect for Grey’s desire to raise a family, the Saundersons continued their careers elsewhere: in Kevin’s case, as a popular producer, DJ, promoter and label runner; in Ann’s, as a fêted vocalist, most notably on Octave One’s “Blackwater” smash. To the delight of fans, Inner City was revived in the early 2010s with gigs at key clubs and festivals worldwide, with both Paris Grey and Ann Saunderson taking dual vocal roles. New material was forthcoming, too: 2011’s “Fantasy”, 2014’s “Bad Girl” – featuring remixes from a then 21-year-old and fast rising Danitez Saunderson – and, most recently, “Good Luck” in 2017, with Danitez integrated as a full member of the group. And so to the present day, with over three decades in the game under their collective wing: with a renewed commitment to live performances featuring a strong family core, and two generations of Saunderson men in the studio, Inner City look set to enjoy the good life as much in 2017 as they did in 1987.

Spain-based producer Eric Estornel initially reserved the name Maceo Plex for his festival-friendly house productions before gradually taking the project into a darker, more introspective direction. Palms Trax is a producer and Dj based in Berlin, Germany. His first record was released in October of 2013 on London-based imprint Lobster Theremin. For aspiring DJs and producers, or indeed anyone who appreciates a good story, the genesis of Palms Trax couldn’t have read any dreamier. You know the one; curious yet naive son of the English Riviera lands a job at one of London’s leading record stores and discovers the masters of Chicago house and Detroit techno. Later, stumbling around Berlin, his primitive attempts to emulate the sound of his newfound heroes accidentally land him a bona fide dance floor hit. A gradual but steady stream of EPs courtesy of Dutch dance music powerhouse Dekmantel have allowed his productions to blossom in richer, smoother directions. On 2015’s ‘In Gold’ EP, and throughout the following year’s ‘High Point on Low Ground’, halcyon hallmarks of house - euphoric piano lines, bubbling acid and luminescent keys - are shot through with Donaldson’s tough, distinctive percussion. It’s that same connection with Dekmantel that has encouraged Donaldson to quickly, impressively evolve as a DJ of some distinctive taste and talent. A memorable performance at Dekmantel’s flagship Amsterdam festival in 2015 captured open hearts, lost minds and aching feet. Since then, the sound of Palms Trax has been a fixture on their enormous main stage, drifting seamlessly between vintage house, esoteric disco and the various shades of a bubbling UK underground he has helped define. A familiar face on Amsterdam's thriving underground scene, Pieter Jansen has been bubbling away beneath the surface of the Dutch scene since the early part of the decade. Watch him cultivate a personal DJ style that prioritizes darker and deeper records while remaining focused on the dancefloor.

Dutch producer-duo Polynation stormed the scene in 2015 with their lustrous debut EP Allogamy. Adopting both rhythmic tension and a wide range of acoustic and electronic tools, Stijn Hosman and Hessel Stuut gradually translated their intricate studio finesse to the more improvisational, spontaneous dynamic of live performance. In the process, tracks like ‘Why You’ and ‘Anther’ amassed wide international acclaim, earning airplay by Gilles Peterson on BBC6 and performing festivals like Amsterdam Dance Event, Best Kept Secret, Eurosonic and Pitch Festival. In May 2019, Polynation’s full-length debut Igneous is released on Atomnation - a product of two laborious years of studio tinkering.

DJ/producer Prunk is working at his own pace, but this doesn’t mean he’s taking things slow. His label PIV, which he started in 2015, has been steadily releasing EP’s, like his own production ‘Sexy Brasil’ that was released on the imprint in the spring of 2016. Together with his sparring partner Chris Stussy, Prunk released the ‘Material’ EP on EWax in the winter of 2016 and the two also released ‘The Machine’ EP that came out on the notorious Nervous Records and EP’s on Moulton and Innercity Records. These EP’s caught the attention of vocalist Alex Mills, who you can hear on Miguel Campbell’s hit Something Special. Prunk and Mills hooked up in the studio with No Cure as a result. Other labels Prunk has released records on are: Electronique, City Soul and King Street. Next to producing Prunk is a resident STRAF_WERK and he is a regular at DGTL and Jenja (Bali), has played in Monaco, Barcelona, Zürich, Lille, São Paulo, Ibiza and at Awakenings Festival. ̸BIOGRAPHY French electronic music producer based in Berlin, Germany. Quelza (real name Léo Naït Aïssa), was born at the end of the 90s in the Parisian suburbs. Lulled in the arts since his childhood, his connection with music is made at an early age. But it's in 2013 that he made his first encounter with the Parisian electronic scene which inspired him to start producing his own tracks. Over the years, Quelza has made a name for himself in the scene, earning the respect of renowned artists, such as Oscar Mulero, DVS1, Marcel Dettmann, Ancient Methods, Efdemin or Tommy Four Seven to name a few, and committing to in-depth projects and releases. Quelza is assiduous when it comes to his music - his releases on labels like Mord Records, Palinoia, 47, Hayes Collective and others, push an unorthodox crystal clarity and cinematic sound design that has become his signature as an artist - which, combined with his unique DJ sets, has earned him a spot at some of the most prestigious clubs in Berlin (where he is currently based) and abroad, such as: Berghain, Tresor, Fabric London, Reaktor, KHIDI and several more. Quelza, counts as one of the most satisfyingly mature young guns to emerge out the new wave of techno artists that’s been unfurling in recent times, with an exquisitely panoramic view into his mental multiverse. Championing layered techno wares laced with a breaksy, IDM-informed touch that packs a punch, the Frenchman keeps on carving out a truly distinctive, shape-shifting signature, switching scopes and angles as he ups the rhythmic pressure with every next sequence.

Recondite is the alias of German musician Lorenz Brunner. Since launching his Recondite project in 2011, Brunner has released four albums and numerous EPs to imprints such as Dystopian, Innervisions, Hotflush, and Ghostly International. All the while, Brunner has been diligently touring his live show around the world: a concise showcase in which he performs all original music. Recondite is currently at work on his fifth album, which will be released in 2018 on his own record label Plangent Records.

As far back as the early '90s, Ricardo Villalobos began building an impressive discography of 12" releases on respected dance labels like Playhouse and Perlon, and around the turn of the decade he was one of the most revered producers and DJs in dance music. In his youth, the Chilean-born Villalobos moved with his family to Germany in order to avoid the military dictatorship of Pinochet, and he eventually fell in with the country's fertile house community. A minimalist at heart, he trotted the globe to study percussion in order to apply his knowledge to his productions, which almost always sound remarkably expansive despite their simplicity. In addition to his own solo material, he has recorded with fellow expatriate Dandy Jack as Ric y Martin and with Luciano as Sense Club; additionally, he has taken part in Markus Nikolai's Hombre Ojo project. ~ AllMusic

Richie Hawtin played an essential role in developing the sound of minimal techno, as well as spreading its popularity throughout the global club scene. Most famous for his experimental acid techno productions as Plastikman, including the classic albums Musik (1994) and Consumed (1998), he is equally well-regarded for his groundbreaking live sets and mix CDs (especially 1999's Decks, EFX & 909) which utilize cutting-edge DJ technology, fusing loops of techno records with additional synthesizers and drum machines. Initially based in Windsor, Ontario and connected with the techno scene in nearby Detroit, he co-founded the highly influential Plus 8 (and its harder sublabel Probe Records) along with John Acquaviva, later establishing Minus and relocating to Berlin during the early 2000s, just as minimal techno began receiving mainstream exposure.
